    Black Mage tips for Sephirot?

    Fight spoilers maybe?

Hey guys, earlier today I cleared Sephirot as my main Summoner and I loved the fight but I quickly noticed that the casting time (even for a Summoner) is very tight with all the pushing and dodging.

I tend to switch to Black Mage from time to time and am curious how the best among us handle such a fight. It seems like such a nightmare for casting.

    Thanks guys

I too would like some tips/advice on how to deal with all the movement...I'm guessing alternating F1-F4-F1-F4 would be the safest?

Forget about Enochian and don't beat yourself up if you stand in some aoes or even die sometimes, that's what healers are for

Really? It's not THAT hard for black mage. At least normal mode, I haven't tried extreme yet. It's mostly about knowing when not to bother popping enochian due to movement (like when he first turns super mode and does the 3 blue punches), and stuff like that.

I had minimal issue on normal mode as Blm for first phase, but second was another story. I think it is okay to pop enocian for the phase but dont try and do the usual rotation until you know the mechanics fully. I had to refresh enochian early to keep it going during that phase and I did the f4 >f1 method mostly as well. I couldnt really apply dots consistantly either, so I just used procs when they appeared. Gonna have fun learning ex version. XD

In the first phase, if you're the only black mage, stand your ground and eat multi circle targeted AoE. If someone else doesn't get that you're standing still because BLM, Manaward. If there's another BLM, you can stand a certain distance apart so as not to hit each other with your AoEs. Make all the non BLMs run.
For the windup punch cone attack, you can take one to the face with Manawall if he turns around at a bad time. You'll still take damage, but it won't be terrible.

    In the giant phase
For the three blue circles, Blizzard III for the first one, Thunder II for the second, Ley Lines - Sharpcast - Fire III once you're in place for the third one. His fist will come down and knock you back at the end of each cast, but you should still complete them. At this point you should be able to stand in your circle and nuke unless you're targetted for the V attack; if you're one of those two people, run to the side. For the rest of the fight, minimize your running time by applying Aetherial Manipulation when you need to move long distances and turning his knockback moves to your advantage. For some of the clustered normal-marked AoEs, you don't have to dodge them--he'll knock you back just before they go off. Learning which times you need to dodge and which times you can stand there and finish your cast will be a boon.

    Thanks for the tips! <3
I will admit, I was overwhelmed my first time in there. With that being said, the main tank dragged him all the way to top of the arena, so that required so much movement in phase 1. Went again for the second time last night with my static and I had a much easier time. Having him centered in the middle made things so much easier.During 2nd phase I set my ley lines the the left, so I would get smacked back into it from the right hahaha! It wasn't so bad, I lost enochien once, but could keep the standard rotation going of F4-F4-F1-F4-F4 etc.

As a blm, wasnt too bad. I do use manaward n such frequently if I see aoe incoming. Also when casting, u can move when casting bar is almost full, but not 100% full. I use that too my advantage alot. So if your casting, and aoe is incoming, you can move before it finishes to dodge aoe. It will get easier once you become more accustomed to mechanics

Its when the cast timer at +85% when you can start moving or casting another spell. In dodge heavy fights if you keep an eye on your cast timer you can finish casting and dodge at the same time.

This does not work on procs though. If you cast Thunder or Fire proc you have to wait for the full cast timer to finish before casting another spell. But since they are instant casts which allow you to move and cast like scathe its a fair trade off.
