In a fantasy world, it's not "everything goes, who cares because its fantasy". Things are always based off of what was planned out relative to the world that you create. What if we added spaceships and laser guns?

Would you tell me that is ok because its just a fantasy? I'm guessing you'd say "no... thats sci fi". Which is exactly why people put boundaries on what type of fantasy you are dealing with.
