Make it really fast and have it burn a lot of Gil (or some valuable) as cost for fuel. *shrugs*

It's for this exact reason why I wouldn't want it in the game. If it was the only super high speed mount, then suddenly every single other mount in the game would cease to be useful and would become nothing but trophies unless they could match the speed. Every single player would literally only be riding this mount for the effect wither they actually liked it or not. This is not a mount that will be available in game. It was revealed at the end of one of the Live Letters and their statement was that it looked stupid at the current ground mount speed and would need to be significantly faster to make sense. They also said that due to this the idea was scrapped and would not ever be released.
They can make it as slow as the others, even make a big notice in the product details on the Mog Station, people will still buy it fully knowing what they get themselves into. It's for this exact reason why I wouldn't want it in the game. Because bikes.

I think the XIV team are putting their own views before the players regarding this particular mount. A motorcycle should be fast... with the speed it goes in the video, it may as well be a Flintstones vehicle.

To be fair, it would be funny to have this tricked-out motorcycle with one horsepower.

I believe there is a solution to make the mount not look bad due to slow speed. In Aion they introduced some kind of special mounts which had a similar problem, they had to appear going faster than normal mounts to make sense, but in the end they had to be the same speed. What they did was add some kind of warp animation on the sides, similar to how it is when you go very fast, that gave you the pseudo-impression that the mount was going much faster than what it did.
I believe if they do that here they can solve the issue of the bike looking "stupid"

More than just speed makes this look "stupid"

And the Mana Cutter doesn't look stupid at ground mount speed? How is this any different? This is not a mount that will be available in game.
