    I used to be dedicated to crafting for a long while(not nearly as hardcore as some people, but perhaps more than the average person) and got all of my crafts up to 50, eventually focusing on Weaver and penta-melding that. After a while I soon found myself getting tired of the process though and let it fall off. Aside from still needing to level my classes from 51-52ish, I only ever bought one Master Recipe book and honestly have no idea where to begin in order to make crafting a source of income once again. I feel like I have fallen so far behind but there are a couple of expensive things I'd really like. Sadly, because of Housing limitations, my inspiration to one day get a hold of one would fluctuate inconsistently, so I often indulged in spending a lot of my savings on friends or helping the odd random now and then and so I never really amassed a particularly large sum since it would always hit some sort of ceiling before I would find an excuse to spend it on something.

    I'd really like to secure a larger nest of savings though, both for housing and furnishings among some other things, but I fear that once I hit 60 I'm just going to have no idea what I should be doing and how long it would take for me to "catch up" with the general trend of things - let alone have any idea if the end result is very profitable or where my attentions should be focused. I don't have a whole lot of patience for gathering the likes of shards/crystals/clusters either so the idea of collecting, let's just say even 100 of the same item every day or two would be pretty off-putting for me.

    N-Not...a lot....... I wouldn't dare suggest that I was good at marketing or utilized it even fractionally as much as I could or should have. I probably never even covered the losses on melding Weaver come to think of it, but I had kept up with the end-game(level 50) omni-crafting to a point before dropping off.

    ....so with that Excuse Shield primed, maybe something around.... I don't know, seven or eight million perhaps ;

    How do people make that much? That's an insane amount.

    Crafting has cost me a hell of a lot more than it makes, and that's WITH doing all the gathering myself.

    It is not really that hard. It just takes dedication to it.
    I get to play an average 2.5 hrs per day (both DoW and DoH time). Since Heavenwards dropped, I have made enough to have 3 mil on hand, donated 25 mil to my FC (our future House), spent easily 12-15 mil on levelling and gear for DoH & DoL (not BiS but I can 2**), 5 mil iLevel jumping new FC members, and have about 2 mil on the board at the moment.

    There are copious ways to earn money. I personally do it by the volume approach. Several, easy/cheap/fast to make items with very high MB turn over. Since I have "limited" playing time, there are several days in which my retainers are not really selling anything and I have difficulty gathering from timed nodes.

    Yes, crafting costs, but if you set aside time each crafting session to producing products for MB, you will see those costs easily offset. There are very few HQ finished products that do not sell for at least 3x the materials cost. Another approach I use, is putting myself in the PF looking for work, the client buys the mats and tips me 10-30K for the work. The client is happy because he got a full set for less than 1/2 the MB price, I am happy because I made X gil for 10-15 minutes of work.

    I don't like taking tips so I never profited from that either. *Terrible at business*

    If i add both the gil on my main character and the gil I transfered to an alt in preparation to getting a second house, I have around 159m. I remember making around 2m by crafting the ninja relic weapon. Another part was made by spiritbonding up the wazoo.
    I really started making gil by crafting full gathering and crafting ilvl 150 sets when heavensward hit.
    When diadem came along and i got my gear up, i made the majority of my gil selling sky pirate gear.
    I almost never bought any materials for my crafters, instead I preferred to gather everthing myself or by retainer.
    I've also been leveling the crafters on my alt and just by crafting everything in the log once for the bonus I made 600k just going from lvl 1 to 22-28 on 7 of the crafting jobs. Using leves on cul.
