Move along nothing to see here. It was a dumb idea. I'm embarrassed I shared it.

These ideas are terrible. Miqo'te are feline by nature, making some bizarre canine/lupine variant is ridiculous. The Roegadyn do not need tails. If you want the Galka, go play FFXI. We don't need bad fanfic additional body parts. We just need a character creater that doesn't inexplicably block off a ton of options arbitrarily based on race, gender, or even face preset in some cases (such as specific scar patterns).
Its far too late to make such a major change to the races. If a patch were focused on more customization within the races, I would be perfectly content with more options for what is already there (face, nose, eye, and body shapes, scars, tattoos, ear shapes for Elezen, tails for Miqo'te, etc, etc). Turning Roes into fish people and Miqo'te into any furry animal that's ever existed is too much of a change for the lore that has been established for more than six years and its a change I wouldn't welcome.
A true paladin... will sheathe his sword.
They already have concepts for a canine-based, and leporine-based race.

If I could addon to Miqo'te I'd give more lore for Keepers in-game.
Maybe a named non-evil male Keeper? Yeah?
....that counts, right?

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME
Raccoons do not belong to the order Rodentia. They aren't rodents. Aside from that... no. Just... no. It seems like you basically want to mush up Au Ra and Roegadyn into a weird hybrid and I don't even understand why Miqo'te would suddenly be bunnies/dogs.
When people say they want more options for the current races, we're talking about things like facial features, hairstyles, and scars.
Haven't been keeping up on all my FFXIV news for awhile because I have been taking a semi-break from playing it outside of raiding for awhile now (whereas once I gobbled up every bit and byte of news I could find), but when did they show this? I know it's from the FATE in Tokyo thing but I don't remember them ever showing this on the forums with a Q&A type thing like they usually do. I love my kitty, but I swear to whatever deity that canine race would worship I would race switch so fast and leave C'desh in a box out in the rain to be that.

Can't wait to play as a Frog'ote
I actually don't want any new playable races until the existing races have their options expanded. By that, however, I mean expanded in a reasonable manner - they don't need to suddenly get all sorts of weird traits. We just need new base faces and a variety of new scars/facial features. I'd happily play a male Highlander, for example, if they could have proper eyebrows and had more classically handsome facial options.
One of the biggest issues with new playable races is that every piece of gear in the game needs to be adjusted to fit them. I'd rather see that development time spent elsewhere.
I apologize...I forgot that people can't have fun on these forums.
I also forgot that it's a venial sin to suggest anything.
The whole concept that obviously was missed is...IF you could and it would RETCON the racial Lore so it would make sense.
Yoshida even said that we won't get Veira or similar races because they would be Miq'ote but with bunny features.
Which made me think...why not just make Miq'ote into an animal race?
I apologize for wanting to have a for fun conversation.
