A workaround is just that. There is no compelling argument to support denying a non-combat class the benefits of owning a chocobo at this point. Chocobos are a basic feature that everyone should have access to. We all have places go to and people to see.
All I'm saying is that the future has been confirmed, time to stop crying and do something about it. You have a problem, find a productive solution. In this case that would be leveling a battle class to 25 minimum. It's not like it takes that much time, it's a minor inconvenience at worst.

Crafters and Gatherers as main classes was part of Tanaka's incomplete vision. It's what brought us Parley and a campaign with little to no actual battles. I mean what Final Fantasy game has a main story devoid of fighting? Yoshida has been steering us away from that and making crafters and gatherers more about utility and function than being able to do everything.

Does it suck for those who only craft and gather? Yeah but I think people should be focusing all that negative energy on an actual practical solution.

Indeed, some don't realise that since 1.19 is still 7 days away, there's still ample time to get a class to 25.

It really doesn't take long, you can get from 1-15 within just 2 hours by killing stuff (I used La Noscea, and kill in the order of: Rat > Puk > Roseling), at that point pick up 8 battle leves, use guardians aspect on all of them and that's an easy rank 20, all within the space of a few hours. Only 5 ranks to gain then to join a GC and 6 1/2 days to get those in.

There's a lot more to the future than the patch they're releasing on October 4th. Raising a concern is not what I'd classify as negative energy. The time to say something is now, while things are still in their infancy.

The practical solution for a great many people is to quit. Some of these are people I knew and enjoyed playing with. Will 25 levels of Gladiator bring my friends back? I doubt it. The focus on battle classes for content is something I understand. A delay is something I can deal with. I think this should eventually be addressed, though, rather than swept under the rug.

Also, in response to the horses thing: Many many horses are employed for non-combat purposes. Horse drawn carriages, for example. I can't think of a country or era that restricted them to military use.
