Oh ok. XD Didn't even see that. I just saw white gear. On one hand thats super left field for them to /not/ put whm in the white gear but also *applauds*. Really like all the sets I've seen so far though. The translation of the Japanese (linked in the second posts) specifies that the Shiva set is Casting, which Google Translate confirms.
Edit to add an additional thought:
Actually, the fact that it's the Hailstorm Attire of Casting all but confirms the sets are in fact role-based and not job-based, as Casting has always referred to both BLM and SMN gear so far. It's possible they could be changing that (honestly, I never really understood why the ranged DPS have shared sets and the melee DPS don't), but I wouldn't bet on it. We probably wouldn't see a change like that outside of an expansion launch.

I can see the choice of gear set being more linked with the Primals abilities and mindset. My thoughts and prediction for the gear sets are as follow:
Fending is Titan: The skin and physique of Titan is made of hard rock which fits perfectly with tanks, it's easy to think it could be Titan.
Maiming is Garuda: The dragoon as the ability to jump and reach great height to reach his ennemis as if they were light as a feather.
Striking is Ifrit: Ifrit is a beast with a burning temper and his ability to dash in a fight is just like a Monk who use energies/chakras to move and battle.
Scouting is Leviathan: Due to the body of Leviathan we can assume that the choice being Ninja is because of his great flexibility and quickness.
Aiming is Good king Moogle Mog XII: I see alot of people saying mog would fit more as healing but personnaly I see it more as aiming due to Moogles being a beast tribe who enjoy playing music (not only that but the Bard storyline says that the soulstone was given by moogles if I recall~)
Healing is Ramuh: Ramuh would be my way to go for healing, he is wise, a protector of his beast tribe (the sylphs) and he doesn't arm anybody unless someone walk into the sylphlands. He has points in common with the Conjurers of the Black Shroud to me.
Casting is Shiva: At first I thought it a little strange but the more I think, it makes sense since Shiva uses a staff during her fight and she seems to rely on magic to make her weapons out of ice aswell as to freeze her ennemis.

I don't think Mog will get used due to the number moogle themed stuff in the game, I think ravana or bismark maybe.
Forget the gear, Do I spy on that Levi Ninja's head, another short sexy hairstyle?

I noticed that, too! Even though I rarely use the new hairstyles, I love that they keep adding them, as it increases the overall variety of appearances. That's incredibly important to me after playing FFXI for so long, where a large percentage of Mithras had the same face and hair. :x

I'd personally like my whm more darker colored and not always given some cliche robe with a crappy hood. Blm on the other hand can stay the way it is but give us cool looking coats every once in a while instead of robes alot too. :/

I'm struggling to see the Shiva set as anything but a healer's set, to be honest... do we have a source for all of this? I know it's "from the Japanese", but where is the Japanese from?
It'd make far more sense for casters to be Ramuh and healers to be Shiva, looking at it:
- Shiva's colours are light blues and whites, the latter in particular being most closely associated with healers - casters (particularly BLMs) are darker, deeper colours; purples, reds, blacks etc., like those of Ramuh.
- Lightning is a far more offensive, destructive magic than ice, better suited to casters.
- Shiva's gentle, graceful image matches well with white magic.
- The staff the model is holding is pronged and pointed, more like that of a healer - BLM's staffs in this game tend to either feature orbs or a more slimlined design. That looks like a WHM's cane to me.
- The model's pose is more typical of a healer; casters tend to be shown with a more offensive stance, weapon drawn and so on.
More than anything else, I find it very odd that a non-healer would be in white.

This is my thought as well.
Anyone can see what we mean by looking at the Midas gear pics. They have AST in a very non-offensive pose and right below is the caster set (identical to the healer set other than color) with a black mage staff drawn in an offensive pose.

From a sloppy Google Translate of the article itself:
That's obviously fairly garbled, but the gist seems to be that they got the information from Square-Enix directly as a sort of promotional preview for the publication.Square Enix, MMORPG in the service in the PS4 / PS3 / PC : "Final Fantasy XIV Blue Sky of Ishugarudo" has released the latest information updates Patch 3.2 "The fate of the gears" of.

So that website (dengeki) is our only source so far...?
I'm going to wait until we hear more from SE before believing it. That pose is far too healer-like for me to believe there hasn't been an error somewhere.
