I am still enjoying this game and looking forward to 3.2

I've recently returned after a long break and have been enjoying my time so far. Ffxi was my first mmo in which I played for over 10 years. With FFXIV baring enough similarities to be considered a spiritual successor it feels like home, which helps me want to stay. I consider myself a casual player and take things slow which helps me not get tired of the game. Even when I do get tired I always find myself coming back and checking up on all the new content.

I think how a person spends their time in a game helps them to stay. If they have good experiences and memories it's easier to find a reason to stay over someone who doesn't and is frustrated with the content or lack thereof.

I got my Grandmaster of War and grandmaster of magic titles and I still have plenty to do. I raid every week with my team, I'm working on my second relic, and if I ever get bored I can farm stuff, help people out, or play on alts.

Me too, I log in, say hi to my static and FC, then go to my retainers and get the reward send them away, then jump in circles for 1 hour, talk to retainers again, then jump in circles for an hour and log out.

Then twice a week we raid, so I jump less.

I like the spirit of this thread, but the constant references to players who are dissatisfied with the game currently as being "salty" are really immature and groundless. Unhappy players aren't in any way morally superior over happy players, and vice-versa.

I don't support the Relic grind and I myself am only spending my Tomestones on the unidentifiable items because with all of my battle jobs to 60 there's not much more to spend them on. I don't believe it's really content that makes the game any less stale, I've already run those dungeons and fates dozens of times before and going back to do them doesn't seem like a worthwhile endeavor. All the Thordan EX weapons are more than sufficient for what item level they are and took me much less time to get than a single 210 Relic would take me. The game still feels very stale to me at this time, I raid once a week for A1S because accessories are the harder item to obtain compared to spending Esos on body gear and the weekly Void Ark, besides those and daily maps and some turn ins it takes me less than two hours to do everything I need to for the week in one sitting. People may justify that the game isn't stale right now but as someone who tries to touch upon all content in the game and be a literal jack of all trades, there really isn't that much to do in the game at this time.

It's been this way for nearly two months now too, while the seasonal events were at least amusing waiting for 3.2 by touching upon other games seems like a much better idea, FE: Fates and Project X Zone 2 in the next 9 days, I encourage people to save slow tedious work like leveling and gathering for a time when content is renewed for us again. We need to show SE that we're logging on to do things when they actually give us content, less logins during dry patches like now will show them we aren't getting enough longevity for the game.

I have no group to raid with and I have no real incentive to farm tomes, let alone pursue the relic line along some tedious, fate-farming grindfest, but I still love the game and am dying to see 3.2. My biggest objective 'should' be gearing up my Warrior who is still only i150 but I am afraid to farm runs where people would normally be expecting large pulls while I am totally unfamiliar with damage tolerances at that level.
