Yeah, the nerfs to Gordias Savage will probably be very limited. They always said the nerfs to Coil were to facilitate people seeing the story that happens in there, which is not a factor for Alexander since all the story happens in normal anyway.

Ah, you're right. That was referring to the NEW (Midas) savage. Midas savage is the one that's going to be DF levels of easy.
But keep in mind Gordias Savage is getting de facto nerfs via materia changes and possibly Midas' gear loosening the DPS checks.

SE said that midas will be harder than Thordan and easier than Gordias in difficulty , so if u can clear Gordian , Midas will be more easy and if u clear Thordan will be a bit harder. But who knows...
Yes, Final Coil was easier than Second Coil, due to less punishing instant-wipe and instant death mechanics. Second Coil was, for progression content, the hardest of the three raid tiers in ARR. The versions of the fights that exist now are severely modified in a number of important ways, so folks who didn't experience them until they were added to the DF probably don't realize how much more coordination and awarenss they took than FCOB did.

Here's an example of what could happen in Second Coil before it was nerfed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sw4DWXpPzxo
In nerfed Second Coil, this kind of situation would only be a minor inconvenience. So if Midas is around Second/Final difficulty, then it's still going to be fairly difficult. Just not difficult to the point where only 1%(?) of the player base can complete it.
The release I read didn't say it was referring to the release versions of them, tho. It just said the coils. I assumed it meant the current version. Here's an example of what could happen in Second Coil before it was nerfed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sw4DWXpPzxo

I'd assume they refer to the un-nerfed version. Second Coil was only nerfed to be more accessible in Duty Finder (though T9 was left alone, getting only the Echo).
