Cmon no one from Odin here?.
Welp Odin is a great server plenty of stuff to do, and lately with 3.2 coming closer new statics and older statics are recruiting.
Also theres a lot of newbies and older people helping .
Oh and its mostly english speaking, with a few french here and there :P

Thanks for the advice, durandal is mostly Japanese, there used to be a lot of people playing whether they have migrated or stopped playing idk, but I'll have a look at the suggestions

Maybe they move to Shinryu or Chocobo? I don't know. Because those 2 servers is full like Balmung and Gilgamesh on NA server lol.

For me, my server sleeps around the time I get home from work late nights. On my off days, there is TOO MUCH going on that I almost can't focus on getting anything done.

that would be because English is basically the only common language used by most of the people in the EU side. We all, most of us at least, speak English be it poorly at times but still English. Europe has too many languages to learn them all, so as a matter of comfort English remains the language by definition of public display so to speak. FCs though may have different things.

For the rest, if you are an EU like I am and play on a NA server like I am, be ready to be LONG hours alone, VERY long hours alone, and if you cant get on with that, you shoudl really look for another server, more suited to your needs. Personally, when I feel tired of talking to myself, I go and meditate in my secret spot, regain energy and continue.

I am in an FC where most of the time I am alone too, to a point I even forget to say hi when I log in so used I am to see noone lol.

I finally found, I hope, a place where both, I can be alone, or with people, one in particular, even if reversed so far it works fine. Besides if in need of groups, there is DF and why I wished that EVERYTHING was in there right at release.

But if OP plays GMT times, even a full JP server isn't going to be that busy at those times. 7pm GMT is like 4 in the morning in Japan, nowhere is going to be busy then.

An EU server would be better in that case, but then what about lag? I suppose it depends which is more important...

What I mean is those JP people who first from Durandal that OP mention suddenly gone. Perhaps they move to new server like Shinryu for unknown reason.

Since the OP is using GMT as their time zone, I'd assumed they weren't located in Japan anyway but in GB or the like.
But even if that isn't the case, it shouldn't be too bad. We have plenty of people from the Middle East, Asutralia, basically all over the world, and many are avid raiders, so it's not like the slightly higher ping makes the game unplayable; you just have to be on your toes a bit more with aoe evasion and such.
When EU servers were still located in Montreal, the game wasn't unplayable for us Europeans either
