Saving Limit Breaks as a coup de grâce is stupid.

Just something that bothers me, that every four man pug I'm in seems to do. They'll refuse to use their limit breaks on the first couple of bosses, just leave the bar sitting there topped out and for the final Boss, once the second bar is filled, they'll refuse to use it until the boss is at 4% health or thereabouts.

People! This is wasteful. Why save a limit break for the point in a fight when you don't even need it anymore? By this point, not only have you dragged the fight out unnecessarily, you won't even get to see the full animation because it'll clip out for the victory cinematic. So what is the point of doing this?? It's not a trump card if you don't use it. Are you people having some kind of anime-esque power fantasy where you're pointing your fingers at the monster and screaming: "OBLITERATE! AHHHHHH!"

Stop doing this! Use your limit breaks on earlier bosses! Use your 2-bar LB on the final boss as soon as it's filled! Here's another exclamation point!

Fire 2 x2 > SC > Flare > Convert > Flare > BLM LB.

Never understood that tactic either. In the latest dungeons LB doesnt even do that much, often taking berely 1% of the boss. Its better i think to gather a bigish mob group together and LB them with an caster/ranged one. Would speed the run up a lot more.

Aiming a bard LB can be tricky though. Once tried to shoot all 4 alarums on fractal with a LB and came very close to missing them due to casting delay.

its not like it will build back up to lb1, and even if it does it doesn't do much. it doesn't really matter.

Use your 2-bar LB on the final boss as soon as it's filled!

In a lot of instances these days, the boss even dies before the second bar has filled. When I'm on a melee job I'm usually trying to gauge how fast the boss is dying versus how fast the bar fills. Sometimes when it's close I misjudge whether it's going to get there and I wind up hitting the LB1 super late as a result.

I suspect a lot of this is that people don't have a good sense of how fast the LB recharges and they don't want to get to the boss without it.

It's a weird habit of the player base that has been going on for a long, long while. I personally don't get it either, but hey...I am a tank, I don't get to LB xD

What I think it is, is that with so many folks expecting to use it as the last hit on the last boss, folks are just scared to pull it off without offending someone or their party. I don't understand the mentality myself, as I would rather have it used during large mob pulls or once on each boss (which I have done, damn those that get pissed off) if DPS is low.

Sometimes, folks do forget to. I know jumping from my DRK to my NIN I always forget it's there..so yea there is that.

Haha, that reminds me of a time I was running MogEx with FC mates to help clear. I usually main whm and don't get to LB either. That one time, I had to switch to monk, they were missing a melee, and already had 2 healers. Then there comes the Memento, and I hear my mates on TS calling me for LB. I panicked, realizing I had forgotten to have it on my hotbar, opened the menu, tried to find it quickly. Too late. Memento was cast. After that total derp, must say we had a great laugh

Hell, that's fine too! The tank pulls a whole floor, yolos all his cooldowns and you wipe everything out in one blow. That's synergy! Way better than someone dropping a nuke on a boss with two percent health.
