I'm guessing by your response that you haven't looked at my Lodestone info. I have almost every job at 60 and I actually play many jobs on a regular basis, including DPS jobs. Quite honestly, healing in most of this game's content is so easy that I think I'd fall asleep if I didn't DPS. Throwing out a heal and standing around twiddling my thumbs for 15-20 seconds waiting for the tank's HP to fall isn't my idea of a good time. Scholar's base class is a DPS class and it remains very true to that, which is what I enjoy about it. It's a very flexible job. If I have a good co-healer and a very self-sufficient party (i.e. one that knows how to avoid licking the floor candy), I can crank out several hundred DPS while still helping keep the tanks alive. If the party (or my co-healer) is new or undergeared or just isn't so great, then I can back off of that and go full carry-mode with the heals.
Exactly this. If I can keep the tank on his feet AND help do damage, why shouldn't I?
Good point about Assize, as well.
I would do the same. I love healing on SCH but honestly once I know the content I really don't have to do much healing at all.
I've literally fallen asleep in a low level dungeon before, it was awful. (I had decided not to DPS but...obv not the right choice hhaha).
