Friend/recruitment code for special items and things (use before paying first sub) RACN78W5 (updated) info on items here http://sqex.to/Cz9 code is entered via the mogstation.
they are event items. I have them and the Cloud set but don't consider either of them TRUE Coats or Boots since they are character themed.
If they add boots and a coat, aka design them specifically for FF14, then they will likely follow the patter of Male Glamours not being gender locked. But, if the ladies get a fedora of some kind then you can almost guarantee we guys will be SoL in the fedora department.
There are over 20 Glamour inequality threads still up if you want to see more and better examples. Since they horse isn't getting any deader this is all I'll say about it. Though I will personally lead the Riot if women get a trench coat and men don't.
the boarskin skirt is gonna have the skirt part separated from the base. I am normally not the one to go off on a tangent but, it sounds like its gonna be a case the Halloween gear (assuming its not gender locked). where it is unique for females and something we already have in the game for males.

So this means male characters will be getting this skirt too, right? Because we've learned our lesson about gender-locking items and females already have so many more exclusives than males despite repeated promises that that situation will be remedied that we couldn't possibly be considering making the problem worse before taking a single step to fix it, right?
Though personally I'd prefer to be able to wear the version females already have, the skirt with the thigh-high tights, on my male character, I'd be willing to take this version as a peace offering and proof that you're actually listening to us and not just making empty promises.
We do a Cosplay portion of our "bi-patch-ly" glamour contest. Here's some highlights from the last one (full show). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IRRHU2lcgU

Temple Knight Glamour - Cobalt Vambraces (Blue) --> Templar Vambraces
I'm on the same page as Coldbrand here. I've been using the Templar glamour (Ishgardian Temple Knight) since 1.0 and I keep kicking myself for getting rid of mine when ARR first launched for tomestones so I could get Darklight, back when it was hot stuff. I had no idea it was not obtainable anymore (or at the least impossible to dye it as such, with the current system in place).
They were once called "Cobalt Vambraces (Blue)" back in 1.0, and they've been MIA ever since. I suppose a PROPER name for them if they were to return now would be, "Templar Vambraces". Here's what they looked like:
Currently, it is impossible to dye the metal portion of a vambrace, only the cloth-portion. Simple fix, nothing extreme. Or could just be made into it's own item, like I mentioned above instead, but then that would just prevent people from being able to create other colored variations as well.
Here's another image of what it looked like in the actual game, on an actual character (my 1.0 character, to be honest):
