If the question is if they will be better than current anima weapons, yes. The il play will almost assuredly be il220-30 (depending on midas nm levels) with fiend weapons being 225-235. I guess if that's reasonable grounds to save working on your relic till 3.25, go for it? They're still going to be useful the sooner you have them.

if they wanted to avoid item levels spiraling out of control and also considering all the things being released at the same time

I would assume something along the lines of
midas normal being 210 and dropping illuminati items as a sort of "get raiders up to speed"
the new expert dungeons will likely be 200 or less. Keeping in mind the last expert dungeons were released when you could just freefarm 190 gear in gordian and still only had 185 gear in them
sephirot could be 215 or even a non-weapon drop like rings. Not every trial fight is weapon drops
Then the actual raid and limited income could be 220 upgraded to 225 with just the midas weapons alone being 230 while anima is 225 because apparently raiders need to have "the best" even though this isn't really the kind of game that necessarily makes sense in

The only things that seem like a real wrench in the works to me is that the anima weapon grind is so tediously horribly long and they said it won't be made any easier and the way some 205 weapons were actually numerically stronger than the 210 anima counterparts.
Seeing people with anima weapons is still a rarity and if a source is being released that has "easier than previous content" as a sort of tag line with better weapons and no info about where anima is going. It almost seems like it will be a de-motivator along with the "We don't want anima to be as good as raid drops"

even if you have your tomestone weapon like for a week only? or worse, if SE said 3 weeks for 3.25 and you need 990 lore tomesstones, then the anima will be abailable at the same time you will have enought to buy the tomestone weapon lol

Given that, you do think that the tomestone weapon is still worthy?

Ok so for a couple things, one, normally it's usually 4-5 weeks before the .5 patch comes out. So that's 1800-2250 Lore earned before the next step of Anima. On top of that, this thread is going under the assumption that there will not be some sort of time gate implemented in the next step on Anima to draw it out further. Say it works on an alexandrite equivalent it could take about another month past that.

Then again, I'm willing to put money down that the Lore weapon will demand a drop from A6S before it can be bought like every other weekly tomb weapon post BCoB till Heavensward. Which in that case if you're not a progressional raider you don't really have much you can do with those tombs anyway.

What I am going to do is get the gear and either wait until 3.2 or wait until I get a drop from A6S( if even possible within a reasonable amount of time).

Otherwise there is no point in buying a tomb weapon only for it to be outclassed in a few weeks.

I'll got straight for my Anima weapon. I'm not part of a Static or Raid active LS therefore I can keep rocking it.
Probably going to get my other 2 classes a new Tome weapon depending on how much I like the new gear look since Glamour is the true endgame

I check the live letter again, seems you are right. That changes everything apperantly or not. It seems I only saw only those 3 weeks.

If a weapon drops from Normal, it will be 210, and non-upgradable (I do doubt it since there was no weapon in Gordias Normal). I can't see Midas Normal gear being any higher than that (if it is, 215. But I really doubt it). It would then be used to get people up to speed with those who cleared A4S, and allowing better farms at the new Primal weapon (which will be the gateway weapon for most people for Midas Savage...assuming there is one anyway, but a Mirror of the Whorl 5ilv upgrade piece that drops extremely rarely will be around to give the determined a chance to get a tome-equivalent weapon before clearing A6S)

Tome weapons are used to get people from early raid floors to the later ones; you need the previous top-tier weapon to do the first one or two, then the Tome and its upgrade for the later two.

But, they did say Midas will be the top, so it will be at least 5ilv higher than the upgraded Tome weapon.

As for the Anima, I doubt it will catch up to Midas until probably 3.35 or so; my guess is the first upgrade (3.25) to it will bring it to 220 or 225.
