They did say access to rentals at rank 10 without seals , so what's the problem? Noone should be earning seals until after rank 25 anyways, I'm pretty sure it was designed that way. But thanks for the challenge to my logic.

You are still a bloody rookie in the companies. No company would give their best gear to a bloody rookie ^^
Because of this you see only the stuff for recruits.
And now explain how a new player rank 20-30 can earn the Darkhold seals
Even if SE make a quest for chocobo, it would be a r25 quest, still too easy for a r50 class

They won't need to. SE already said the repeatable caravan quests are much like behest in terms of timers, and are centric to a player who is at least rank 25, the same rank one can begin earning seals anyways.

    ditto.

Here's the details for earning an endless supply of seals:

Remember its a chocobo, a staple of final fantasy. Everyone should have access to them fast imo, it makes the game feel more like a FF title. Down the line when newer exotic mounts are added, they can come with a bigger challenge.

You are 100% Correct Vesper. We should already have them, for the last year. Had they been in the game from the get go the sense of achievement would be there. The Feeling that we can't wait to get to 25 and get our chocobo would be there. Instead we are way past that, and they need to make up for a little lost time when it comes to the ones who are already playing the game. Make it simple and fast to get, but still offer some time/rank restrictions for those who come new to the game and are going to get that achievement out of it. Playing the game close to launch has it's downsides and content being filled in behind you is one of them, the best thing is that you get to see how the game evolves over time, which is very exciting.

Its just a shame they are applying retcon (retroactive continuity) to explain-away the chocobo plague, rather than allowing the player to help participate in ending the plague, thusly allowing access to the chocobos.

So many people want instant gratification, which takes away from any sort of personal accomplishment & backstory. What you are asking for would make it massively easier to merely rent a chocobo, then it EVER was in FFXI, just to compare the corrosion of any sort of personal accomplishment.

Let's compare notes on the degree of difficulty in both renting and owning a chocobo in this and the previous title. I understand FFXI =/= FFXIV, but my point is difference in degree of difficulty.

    FFXI Rental Requirements

To get a Chocobo License first make sure that you meet the following:
    - You are Level 20
    - You have 4 Grass/Greens for the Chocobo. (It is dropped by the Wadi Hare)
    - Able to reach the Chocobo Stable in Jueno (travel with a group)

    Steps to obtain a license
    1) Go to the Chocobo Stable in Jueno. Make sure you have 4 grasses and are level 20.
    2) Talk to Brutus in the stable.
    3) Brutus will ask you some questions, choose the first answer and then the second answer.
    4) Next talk to Osker who is nearby. Osker will tell you that you need the greens (grass). Since you have the grass you are already prepared.
    5) Next go up to the Chocobo near Osker and trade one of the green to it. The Chocobo will squeal and most likely not eat the grass.
    6) Note the current time, you must wait until the next day to try again. When time is past 0:00 (not exactly) trade the grass to the Chocobo again. It will reject this time as well.
    7) Repeat the process each day, attempting to feed the Chocobo each time. Once he begins eating feed him one grass each day. Once you have fed it all four of the greens you will get your license!

Once you have your chocobo license, to rent a chocobo, simply speak to one of the designated rental NPCs and pay the fee in gil.
    versus

    FFXIV Rental Requirements

Requirement: Attaining level 10 in any one class.

To rent a chocobo, simply speak to one of the designated rental NPCs and pay the fee in gil.
I will not go into too much detail about contrasting ffxi's breeding and FFXIV's drastically simpler 3000 seals (by grinding caravan for seals), since it sounds like they also plan to add breeding later on.

...But some people must be able to see how (Too weak to be worthwhile) the difficulty is compared to FFXI, right? It is kind of sad that they put the work into creating this chocoplague back-story, and then not allow the player to get involved for even a minor story resolution, resulting in, as the npc's claim, chocobo use.

Who cares how hard/easy/indepth/whatever it was in FFXI. This is FFXIV they are late with the implimentation of the yellow birds and they specificly gave their reason as to why there is not a more involved/difficult/time consuming quest right from Yoshi's mouth. Suck it up, Move on. have fun.

It's not about how it was in 11, but how they are removing year-old content in 14 to implement it now. The contrast was merely to show what attention to detail SE is capable of doing, versus what they settled on.
