    Gealers have to dps? No, but with a good tank and normal pulls (very rare conditions) they can contribute to the dps (and is even funny). Still, the current meta is one of worst I've ever seen in a mmorpg, with many tanks who want pull the whole dungeon (even if they have strengh gear and don't know how to use cd), and many dps who can't make decent damage and ignore the mechanics.

    So I wonder, is it really a problem the lack of healer's dps?
    Kind of confused on your posts relevance to the topic, it almost seems like it should be a new thread or on a healer thread (not a tank one).

    That said:
    1. Speed runs are apparent in every MMO I've played
    2. Healers don't have to DPS, but it's easy to do it and there is little reason not to
    3. Everyone has to pay attention to mechanics. I am curious as why this concerns you?

    The problem is not lack of healers DPS, but the mentality among many players who believe they don't need to bring their A game. They all want to do the bare minimum and hope the other 3 people will pick up the slack. However, if everyone brought their minimum the runs would take pretty close to the timer of 90 minutes.

    Tanks can contribute to DPS in large pulls as well.

    Point 1 - To me (as a tank) speed runs annoy me. *IF* I'm in a group with friends and I know everyone can play, I'll happily run one. But with even one unknown player they can be painful as can because....

    Points 2 and 3 - Everyone needs to know the mechanics. All classes, period. It's not tank-specific or heal-specific, everyone does. Everyone can help DPS, when it makes sense. The idea that healers "should only keep the party alive" is as retarded as saying "tanks only should keep hate". The group advances when the mobs die, so everyone should help to kill the mobs.

    It wasn't until late in the Heavenward storyline that I feel SE put anything in the way of solo-content that stressed a player's skill. So there's so many players with no skill at all, and no reason to learn any. I can't stand carrying people - but there is no real reason built into the game for people to learn their classes.
