Hopefully DRKs realise that it's not a good idea to pop it in a dungeon... In a raid though there are two healers and healing ~12k within 3 GCD isn't a big challenge. 3 Cures or equivalent do about 7-8k alone and using Cure II/Ben II does even more. All healers have some instant heals, hots are rolling and at least one out of 2 healers likely has Swiftcast available. It's not as bad as people make it seem imo.

If it stops some of these hot-dogging tanks from being a show-off and biting off more than they know they can chew (all under the guise of "efficiency"), I'll be more than satisfied.

On Dark Knight, if you feel you have to pop your Living Dead, it's not usually used as a form of Mitigation - outside of some scenarios that involve tank busters. RAther, it's used in the same context as Hallowed Ground and Holmgang.

"My healer can't keep me alive. I have to do something to extend my life."

A dark knight that dies to Living Dead in a dungoun was either not rotating mitigation properly, pulled more than they/their healer could handle, or weren't getting healed by a DPS-healer.

However, a good dark knight who pops it in an emergency situation who dies to it after? What they basically did was buy you 10 seconds of tanking time, compared to instantly dying. That 10 seconds can be all the difference for some situations.

What they did was prevent themselves from hitting 0 due to either their own failing or the healer's failing or both.

Both Hallowed Ground and Holmgang are used as forms of mitigation. In raiding context, they are often planned to be used at certain times. In dungeons, a good tank will plan/communicate ahead of time ("Going to pull everything and pop hallowed").

Hallowed Ground is so OP'd in Chrysalis if you pop it right before going into white room.

Except DRKs will have 20k HP now. That complicates matters. I'm seriously hoping that the overall evaluation of other tanks that they mentioned is going to address this (not to mention, it's buggy as hell right now anyway).

I was in the Vault the other night with my FC healer, getting her the dungeons she needed for her Relic. But DPS was low (two at-level BRDs), and she was having a horrible time with lag, and kept lagging to death on the last boss (usually on the last phase where the two lines of knights march down the platform). Despite multiple strats and attempts, the lag kept killing her when that second line of knights came out (to the point where the entire screen would lock, and six seconds later she'd rubber band to her death). Our final attempt won the match, though, because after she died, I was able to time Hallowed Ground just so to preserve my life with <200 HP left, and keep tanking the boss long enough for the DPS to get another LB1 out. The fight ended right as I was about to take a hit that would have meant death.

While I used Hallowed Ground on that attempt, Living Dead would have been just as effective.
