If tank damage is now based on VIT, why do healers still have Cleric Stance?

As the title suggests: If in 3.2, they are going to adjust Tank damage so that their damage is based mostly on VIT--their main stat--then why do Healers still have to do a Cleric Stance dance on/off game for DPS? Why not remove the cumbersome skill entirely, and just make Healer damage based mostly on MND?

What, honestly, is the difference here?

    Cleric Stance adds 10% damage.

It's really just there to add some complexity to their playstyle in the form of stance changing, which tanks still will be doing. But yeah, I wouldn't be against making it MND-based.

The same reason all tanks still have stances. You can't do everything at once, and you need to use stance abilities at the right time to focus on what is needed in the fight.

10% for the group? Or 10% for the healer? Because my magic attack power goes from 227 to 941 upon activating cleric stance. That's a wee bit more than 10%, lol.

It switches MND and INT but ALSO adds a 10% attack buff.

No, that's not how CS works. Here's the description:
Swaps current INT and MND attribute ratings, while increasing potency of attack magic by 10% and reducing potency of healing magic by 20%
So it not only just swaps INT and MND, which accounts for the vast majority of the magic bonus, it also gives your magic attack an extra 10% bonus on top of it.

Guys, I totally get that Cleric Stance adds potency to attack and reduces potency of heals, and that it's the mark of a good healer to use it properly. My point is more, does anyone feel like the *spirit* of what they did with folding all of Tank damage into VIT, compared with the existence of this mechanic for Healers, is something of a double standard? I sorta do.

Not really, tanks still have a tank stance and dps stance don't they?

The spirit of this change is that the gear deemed appropriate for tanks by the game (Fending) will actually be the gear that tanks WANT to use, just like Healing gear is the gear healers want to use.

Vit and Str could only be swapped by tanks outside of combat by changing accessories. Mind and Int are swapped by healers in mid-battle with the press of a button. That's the difference.

No, Cleric Stance is there to allow Healers to meet the DpS requirements of Solo content without being forced to party like they are in other MMOs. Healers stance dancing in duties is the result of unintended emergent gameplay.

First off, both Str and Vit will be influencing tank damage. What is happening is that minimum tank damage based on gear will be increasing (Vit tank damage up) and max tank damage based on gear will be decreasing (Str tank damage down).

The changes are being made to fix Tank gearing problems. Many Hardcore Tanks were ignoring Fending Accessories for Slaying and Pentamelded Crafted Accessories. This would be the same as player meta forcing Healers to need Casting Accessories over Healing Accessories.
