Well, that's just lame, it seems an obvious feature. Maybe down the road they can implement it, like they did with minion/mount roulette...

Ideally we'd have Shuffle from the get-go, as well as a Favorites option, and a Shuffle Favorites option. But this is Square-Enix we're talking about, so please look forward to the Shuffle feature, coming with patch 4.0!
I just hope SE doesn't do something stupid with it like make the music sheets needed for it consumable or destructible when replaced... >w>
I seriously doubt they'd make it that bad, but my big concern right now is that you'll need to get each song twice. Once for your Free Company, and once for your personal house.
I think once you have the music, you have it on any jutebox. At least, that's what I get from the announcement statements, I could be horribly, horribly wrong...
They said that music will be tracked by a log of some sort... Hopefully it will just be like Triple Triads cards, where you use the consumable item to add the song to your collection.
Aaaaaaaaaand it's not what we wanted. It's neat, but it's not what we wanted.
and paraphrased from the Live Letter:
We've been clamoring for a way to change the background music inside our houses, and instead it seems we're getting the ability to add music to a small portion of our houses. And (maybe), down the line, the ability to spend even more furnishing slots to extend the effect further. We're considering adding a Speaker furnishing so you can create a Party Room.
Perhaps if we can use multiple Orchestrions in one house, we can have different music in different floors or rooms. That could be cool. Even if we can though, I shudder to think of the wasted item slots.
They spent nearly 6 minutes talking about it during the demo; I wish I understood what they were saying because I'm sure there was a lot more detail than the bulletpoints we received.
Watching the video, you use the music sheet in your inventory, it's consumed, and then permanently added to the list of songs you can play in the orchestrion (like the way collecting minions is done).
They used a small house in their demonstration and I honestly didn't hear any difference in how loud the music was as they transitioned from near the orchestrion to the furthest point away from it (downstairs, across the room). What I did notice was positional audio (i.e. you could hear the direction the music was coming from, even when standing right next to it).Aaaaaaaaaand it's not what we wanted. It's neat, but it's not what we wanted.

Assuming you're allowed to even place more than one orchestrion, looking at the interface it seems impossible for one person to sync the same song on two jukeboxes. And it seemed way too loud to attempt to play different songs in different areas (even in large houses).
I just hope it can be dyed, because those colors are awful.

Any news on when the 'jukebox' item is going to be implemented into the game?
