    To be fair, most of the games you mentioned are in the Action MMO genre, which is separate from the MMORPG genre.

    It's a completely different combat style, and FFXIV can't emulate that without a major overhaul.

    action, shooter, brawler, beat-em-up, they're all possible combat systems within MMORPGs. But yes, XIV is different from them, in what is commonly called the "WoW clone" combat style. And yes, it can't just be changed. XIV has had significant limitations since the moment it chose to go with that style. I really hope the next FF MMO comes out sooner than later and picks a better style more akin to XV in an MMO setting.
