Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary.

Kind of a retrospective on the animated series from 1986. Opinions on the plot vary, but if anything, it's a pretty movie with some funny moments for old fans.

It's rather well animated (reminds me of Pixar, a little) - and is a somewhat condensed, rejuvenated/modernized and slightly re-imagined version of the original anime. It does, luckily, give a little bit of backstory for new watchers (but not 74ish episodes worth of info).

My only gripe was the ending being sudden and rushed... I didn't mind that they didn't go through all the houses of the zodiac and all the individual saints fights/conflicts considering the duration of it all from the original anime, but... the end was just.... after the House of Leo - BAM "Oh yeah, guys, we gotta wrap this up in like, 10 minutes. *Throws everything at once and cuts out a huge chunk of everything*" (not to mention the overly useless-ification of Shun and Ikki). Hell, one of the gold saints only had a 5 second cameo >.>

I both love the movie as it is, but flail my fingers at it, due to some removed things, at the same time....
I do hope they do more and go into the whole additional sagas

I share the same thoughts. xD I also don't know how I feel about Deathmask going full ham with the musical routine, and while Aphrodite isn't my favourite, it felt really lame to see him die like that. Also, no Dohko, but understandable.

It's an interesting project, overall. While I stay true to the canon of the anime/manga, this is a nice deviation that I love and sigh at, at the same time. :P

Yeah, Deathmask took me by surprise, too - though, his song number has it's own charm.... in an insane, batshit crazy kind of way...? xD; Aphrodite.... I feel the same way. Really not a fan of the fella, but yeesh...
They they did mention Dohko/roshi somewhere in there (I believe it was during Shiryuu vs Deathmask), so he wasn't totally forgotten, at least? xD /soothe Though, I guess if they tried to render his old man version, they'd have a purple, bearded Yoda...? o__O;

They DID show a glowing butterfly in the beginning and end of the movie.... I hope I smell a Hades saga Sanctuary arc movie? :x Since the butterfly was a watchman of sorts...
I guess you can say I'm the same - I stay true to the canon (though, I still like SS: Lost Canvas, even if it's partially canon, partially not) but yeah... still fun to see something like this from it xD /moreplz

MRW, on AST.... at the beginning of a boss room already pre-buffed.... I have a card already being held... so draw a card in hopes of an expanded card to RR.... but draw a balance and I really prefer to feed it to a DPS, rather than burning it in Royal Road.....
and I'm waiting for the fshjkfhskj tank to pull before the Balance timer is up >.> and I'm getting antsy/yelling at my screen to 'Goooooooo!'

How I feel, while on DPS, when I stun/grab/stop a monster that's turned from the tank to chase the healer


When I'm really tired or did a raid too many times in a row and I mentally start skipping phases or pre-maturely dealing with a mechanic that hasn't started yet (and subsequently screws me up for a few seconds)


How I feel during Thordan EX, during the two knights adds phase.... healing through Holiest of Holys, the divebombed people, etc and I hear the knight LB go off on the tanks...



Sister and I pug a DF'd party. All load in, I start with buffs and.... tank starts spamming the chat with a huge cat macro, repeatedly, for about a minute.... obviously trolling.
Me, to myself: Ugh, it's going to be one of THOSE runs.
Tank: *Takes off willy-nilly, still spamming, while the rest of us are still standing at the entry*
Us: ......lets just leave.

Olyver beat me, but yeah - Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary. A condensed (by a lot) and slightly artistic-libertied version of ye old 1986 anime.
I'd say go for it - if nothing else, it's a pretty movie to watch, in graphics. They don't go into huge detail of everything for new watchers and they did get lazy on some of the characters (*pets poor, defining moment-less Shun*) but they give enough to the viewer to get an idea of whats going on (it's a wee bit difficult to shove 74 episodes worth of stuff into an hour and a half movie).
The last two anime/non-CG gifs were from Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas (pre-qual series to the original anime/movie)
