I think what will happen is that we'll run into a "Warrior of Darkness" version of Minfilia who has on a slight variation of her old outfit, but she will infiltrate us by trying to convince us that she's the real Minfilia. Then at a later patch, Minfilia will sweep in heroically to save us from an assassination attempt on the Warrior of Light's life.

And it's the easiest boss fight because she doesn't do anything.

All of her attacks consist of using her linkpearl to sic the Warriors of Darkness on you. Or send them on pointless fetch quests.

That in the cutscene with Urianger and Edlidibus in some kind of dark library, the part with the boots and someone spying on them that the warrior of Darkness turned around because he thought someone was there? I think that was Minfilia spying on them. I kinda hope it was and I am really on the edge of my seat with this whole side thing with Edlidibus showing Urianger all these unknown secrets. The fact that Urianger seems to be willing to listen to what Edlidibus has to say makes me think this is all winding up to some kind of huge and awesome twist.

I'm more prone to think that we'll get to accomplish stuff because she sent the Warriors of Darkness on the long string of fetch quests. Can't fight us when they're going across Eorzea gathering rare foods for a banquet to commemorate the upcoming battle with WoL.

Omg yeah it does. Ugh my bad. It had been so long since I watched it, I just went back and rewatched it again. UGH darnit I wanna know what happened to Minfilia lol. Oh well, this should still be very interesting. I hope when they wind this games story up it ends in some kind of calamity again and the next "reboot" or game in line keeps building on it like what ARR did with 1.0.
