Why are low standards for dps acceptable?

what makes you having fun more important than the group? there is no excuse for not trying when other people are involved.

I personally have the most fun when I see a group get together and be awesome. Nobody is asking for people to be perfect, we're just asking for effort. Where this argument falls apart is it assumes the fun of one person outweighs the fun of the other three people. "I use a poor rotation, but it's ok because I had fun. Who cares if the other party members were upset?"

That was more an issue of the BLM in question having someone queued with them.

True, but when you are saying that the thoughts of one person shouldn't outweigh the thoughts of the rest of the party, then having a friend or fc mate isn't excluded of all this. The party did not side with him.

Half of the party. I have voted no to a number of dismissals in dungeons and still saw that person dissmissed. It does not mean 3/4 dissagreed with him. But yeah, that he was kicked was the point that people defend bad dps. He could have phrased it better, but it wasn't that bad. Tank was just hyper defensive and overly sensitive.

Youre so stuck in your bubble you cant fathom someone being ignorant to the game in general. The person about B4B knew what it did, read the tool tip so that meets your conditions, they prioritized their attention to dodging to make sure they live they tunnel vision, and skip B4B for a long period of time. This player doesn\\'t understand muscle memory(which would bypass tunnel vision), nor how B4B while not noticeable dmg increase for a 10 second period. It's notice-able if dPS keep it up in a Long instance.

You know healers can auto attack, but the damage isn't worth having them up close. It's possible someone sees B4B the same way.

Sometimes people just need a nudge in the right direction. Auto assuming they would get mad anyways, promotes people to think it's ok to criticize in a arrogant way, because it doesn't matter right?

Let's get one thing out of the air once and for all. If someone doesn't play the game YOUR way, that's no excuse for being a pain about it. In this instance, you were pretty rude if I must say, and I would've vote kicked you as well! There's a big difference between offering advice and telling someone they're doing it all wrong.

Furthermore, some advice from a level 60 Black mage. Enochian is great, but is limiting in scope. Due to the timer, and the rotations it's not ideal for every occasion. The tier 4 spells don't reset the Astral/Umbral timer, so it needs to be done manually, and to be honest it's only worth doing on boss fights where you're not going to be dodging a lot due to the longer cast times of these spells.

Granted, there are a good number of opportunities for this on Fractal, but this could easily have been a black mage still getting used to the new rotation. Fire IV doesn't come into play until level 60, and regardless of his gear he may be a fresh 60 (it's easy enough to gear up with other classes). In short, chill out guys. Black Mage went 59 levels without worrying about spamming Fire IV, and it dealt damage just fine. Ignoring one little spell isn't going to make his DPS bottom out instantly!

As for why lower standards for DPS are acceptable for trash content, it's because no one is relying on them to stay alive. Tanks and healers carry a bit more weight in that regard, and the only time anyone cares about DPS is on rage timers or raid bosses.
