I went in Void Ark day one hour one, and still got a clear without any wipe. If people can't do the simplistic mechanics (hurr durr do not stand in bad or in front of boss, aka "FFxiv 101") of this fight, well, no reason to catter to them. They're just unable to handle anything in this game already. No use helping them even more.

you can pretty much tell by the targetting circle at its feet. The only role which has it hard is healers, because they aren't exactly targetting chuculain all the time and can be close enough to Chuculain to tunnelvision its movement.

But again, you can tell pretty easily as it only barfs at fixed points in the rotation, when the situation is pretty much "MT in front, everyone else in the back"

No thanks. I'd rather not see yet more content nerfed.

If you're "clever" as healer and dont really care about AoE-heals anymore, since most of your group wont stack with you anyways, you can actually just stand at the very edge of the arena without ever standing in that attack, because of its limited range (same goes for bards and casters I believe) - only accounts if hes being tanked in the middle ofc, but will only get easier if not - just find the wall thats furthest away.

He's like the best boss in there tho...

Only like two mechanics you seriously have to worry about that the group can't really "cover" for you. The puking and then the insta death pool. Don't nerf the fun..

How is this boss difficult? Jesus christ, content is easy enough as it is. And also...

    "LEAVE CUCHULAINN ALOOOONE."

Nerfing more content will just remove any incentive to get better even more.
Yes more challenging content before larger group content will encourage people to wake up and stop just pressing buttons.

The only thing that makes this boss hard is DPS running away from their healers and wondering why they died hilariously.

I wish nerfs weren't the go-to answer to difficult content in this game, especially on content that wasn't even hard to begin with (Steps of Faith outright told you how to win, yet was still too hard for people)

or maybe because people who know the fight don't bother explaining anything to new player then rage when they fail?
every time we have explained to new players before the pull, we cleared. 2min explanation = 15 minutes saved.
    It's AMAZING!

I'm kinda surprised I didn't see this requested earlier in the patch cycle.

Cuchulainn does seem tuned higher than most of the 24 man bosses but I would argue that his current difficulty is fine. Most groups I'm in are able to beat him after 2 wipes at most. Overall the failure rate seems about the same as I used to see from people ignoring meteors in the CoD fight back in the day.

This is the reason the game is plateauing. No one is pushed out of the comfort zones as is. There is no real penalty or consequence in ffxiv for players who don't try. People are dying in content...well...raid awareness is a learned and practiced skill. Instead of working to improve though, people call out for nerfs and echo.

I say up the challenge. Don't nerf one of the few interesting fights/storylines. Add a solo Faust Sensei type mob for each job as gatekeeper to unlock it.
