People selling runs, why not talking about it ?

One thing I find interesting is that there are plenty of sellers who openly admit to the practice but so very little who admit to buying a run for something. Do they feel some shame in doing so?

More often than not, it *is* shameful. I know/knew several people who would buy clears so they didn't have the newbie bonus and could join farm parties...but had no where near the skill to actually farm the content, so when they kept failing they'd start the blame game and things break down from there (have a good number of people blacklisted because of this).
Then there's the people, especially early on in a patch cycle, will buy clears for bragging rights; if word got out they didn't legitimately clear, they'd get torn apart by the people they were trying to impress.

I don't think anyone would try to deny that such people exist. The complaint is more about why should everyone who buys runs get lumped in with people who act like that. The existence of an idiot or jerk doesn't make everyone idiots and jerks.

I think its mostly because If you know a fight and can clear it then it would probably be better for you finding a group of people to do content with, Linkshell/free company/ static whatever to do so with for free instead of paying for a group. The people who sell runs are 99% of the time some of the better players on a server, the ones selling savage atm are for example. Even if you didn't pull your weight in a sell group they still will most likely clear it all the time so there really is no way to prove you weren't carried in a sell group without a parser really.

Does everyone that buys a clear group get carried? Obviously not, but thats sadly the opinion people will have on it.

A rotten apple spoils the bunch. No one wants to be thought of as one of those two groups. No one wants to be associated with them. No matter the real reason, there will be some people who will think you bought a run because you're a bad player only looking to be rid of the newbie bonus or because you wanted to brag to someone.

Another reason? There is no sense of accomplishment in buying a clear. No proud moment you finally beat that fight that was stopping you or your group for weeks on end. You bought a guaranteed clear. Why tell anyone you gave up trying and stacked the deck completely in your favor?

lmao this thread... what sucks is nobody wanna do those runs and some people are smart enough to abuse of it. I am on Balmung and I can't fill a farm party for T10 glamour farming. I will never pay for such prices when I know the content and knowing it's easy to do. But I am starting to hate this game anyway nothing gets done around here. And people just leaving for blade and soul... i might as well do the same!
