    Allagan, High-Allagan, Dreadwyrm, Ancient, Syrcus and Darkness Materia

    Apparently, Materia will see some changes from 3.2.

    Here's an idea.
    Make all 2.x raid gear available for spiritbonding and allowing to create new types of materia.

    For now, I'd like to see double-type materia. For example, a "STR+DET or a "INT+Spellspeed" materia. Of course, you'd have to make it so that each type of materia can be useful, but since each stat has a cap when melding, it wouldn't be that bad. For example, once you use a Crit+Det IV, you might not use another Crit+Det one because you may not get the full benefit on Det. Then you'd better use a Crit+Skillspeed.
    And since you can't overmeld with primary stats, it also means that you'd use more types of materias.

    For added flavor, increase the spiritbonding rate of gear when used in the content its from, and only when synced.

    What do you think ?

    Sounds interesting and could even spark interest in Old content.

    I think for the sake of Ballence though that it should provide slightly less than a rank 4 of either type and significantly less than a rank 5 of equivalent stats. That could make for an interesting drawback. Pure power sacrificed for vesitility.

    I also think it would be nessisarry to.have "bad" stat comboes like piety + skill speed. Which would still be useful in the right build but be less than meta.

    One option could be that each materia has a primary stat locked. For example, Dreadwyrm materia would always have INT.
    But the secondary stat would be randomize (The stat, not the value)

    For Piety, 1st, I'd put them in 1st coil, since it's probably the content where you have less access issue, and second, I'd count them as secondary stat when it comes to overmelding (Exactly like you can infuse it for the Novus, or how you can have piety alongside a primary stat on accessories)

    And of course, you can still sell them if you don't personnaly need them.

    I think the stat lock should be linked to the item type. Aiming = Dex, Maiming = STR, Sending = Vit, ect.

    Other than that I'm now 100% behind this idea.

    I understand that, but it will be very difficult to keep each materia relevant if you have 30 types (6 content x 5 stats, piety notwithstanding)

    Ture, but there's still a risk of it becoming worthless by being too random.

    The Diadem gear is a good example. I got DRG gear with INT on it due to all the stats being RNG based and DRGs don't have a single skill effected by INT since we only deal physical dammage.

    Ah now I see where you're going. That would definitely be an Interesting set up. And then even by unsynching and speed runing the content you still have to spirit bond the gear.
