But you don't need to... red scrip gear is overkill for any current content, you can access all nodes with lvl 60 white gear.

And anyways, it isn't gated. Row 2 and 3 of red scrips for gathering are items that do not require folklore.

Crafting mats are gated behind ooids (unless you run the diadem now, but that doesn't use the red scrips people have farmed for; currently there's no way to buy crafting mats with red scrips that doesn't use ooids, and that seems stupid because it's a crafting token).
