I don't think people have problem with people selling houses for a reasonable amount, "Hey I bought this small house for 5 million so give me 5 million to release it" but that not what people do and going about it where they buy a small house for 5 million and then go "hahaha I was quicker now pay me 10x the price if you want it" that I think most people are upset about and where SE is doing something about it as first post on page 23 explained.

People fucked it up for themselves...there is alot of room to RP out being some type of house realtor. Maybe buying a plot.. putting a slight decoration to the house then promoting it like an "average" house flip..

Buying just a plot.. a plot with nothing tied to it then trying to resell with a markup is a bitch move.. exploitive and mainly just greedy.. when Gil is bountiful in game and absolutely worthless outside of it.

After giving it some thought I've started to not like the idea of people asking any money for their house, because the game itself takes some money. It's not a regular transaction. Person A buys plot for 5 mil and "sells" it to person B for 5 mil. Person B then has to pay 5 mil more to actually get the plot. If person B wants his money back, he'll ask person C ten million instead of five and C has to pay the 5 million fee on top of that in order to obtain the plot. It will get worse and worse that way, making housing into a luxury of the rich which it was never intended to be. 5 million for a small plot is affordable for anyone who puts in a little effort, even if they don't craft. The ridiculous 40-60 mil fees some people are asking are not reasonable.

I'm glad SE is putting an end to the cycle. People have the option to get 80% of their money back excluding any player made fees, and that's the way it should be. I do think that the house move is needed to allow house owners to upgrade and change scene without the relinquish hassle, and luckily SE is already working on it.

My opinion is the complete opposite from yours. I feel if someone gets tired of owning a house they can charge whatever they feel like charging for it till they find a buyer.

If they found a buyer then obviously someone valued the house at the sale price.

In the end SE got lazy with the housing system in the game and now the community pays for it.

Well, if they don't ever put a house on it they can't 'refresh' it, thus it will be reclaimed after the time.

At least on Famfrit, it seems like the GMs are taking a stand against property selling. People have come out saying they're getting one warning before being banned for it. And frankly, I'm glad.

I stayed up all night and into Christmas Day to get a house, and I was lucky enough to be able to buy one for the FC, and then log in with my roommate's computer to buy her a house as well. But I know others weren't so lucky, and I've heard stories about larger servers where predatory free companies bought up wards worth of property to mark it up and resell at absurd amounts (one story I heard took several small plots that were up for 5M Gil and attempted resale at 750M Gil apiece).

Especially when there's probably a direct correlation between house sales and RMT (because why else would someone suddenly need 80M Gil?), I'm really glad they're taking a stand against it, in all forms.

If you don't want your house anymore, don't go there for 45 days, and let Joe Average have a shot at buying it the way he's supposed to. You aren't entitled to make a profit at the expense of other people's enjoyment of the game.

I'm with the people that feel either a direct response to this thread, change to the ToS, or post tot he lodestone specifically saying it's not allowed is all that will be accepted. A picture from Reddit is hardly credible in my eyes, and slightly worrisome, at best. IF they do decide house reselling is illegal, then I say the run sellers need to start getting reported on in massive quantities, because no matter what anyone says, it IS the same.

How is that the same there only limited amount of runs that can be done or something? Am I going to get locked out out a trial or dungeon cause people selling too many runs?

I essentially just report everyone in PF. Trying to sell a house? Thats apparently against the rules now. Trying to buy a house in PF? Thats encouraging other to break the rules clearly.
