FFA PVP zone, more minigames.

The only minigame I'm concerned about is IF Battle Arena will make it into the Gold Saucer.

FFA or Free For All PVP Zone where it's just for fun.

As for a PvP zone, it wouldn't be a huge challenge. Daily quest, FATEs, and timed objectives could easily be made to help with the long pvp grind.

The devs can't make true gambling games due to laws in certain countries forbidding gambling in video games.

Not sure about the whole gambling is illegal in a video game since it's not for real money. FFXI had something called Venture Roll which was basically black jack.

I play because its a PvE game, not revolved around PvP. Sure it may be optional but when we start getting into PvP contested zones that is when I start to lose interest. If I am simply questing and have to worry about a Ninja sneaking up on me or a blackmage silently preping his skills to blast me, I will pass.

I'm positive SE woudn't merge PvP with PvE. What we would get most likely is PvP servers which is ok since it won't bother anyone outside of it.

It could vary between countries and time had passed since my last observation of the events. FF11 probably gotten a free pass since it's a game catering to older players instead of children. The devs for FF14 probably can't or don't want to put in gambling features due to RMT, but that's my guess.

I admire the PVE myself but there comes a point where PVE isn't as much fun anymore and you can easily kill stuff with the high-end gear you've aquired.

They did say in a recent interview that if there's enough of a demand they would consider creating a PvP server to test the waters. They believe quite a few English players want that sort of thing and they're not exactly wrong, but it's not the most popular concept in Japan. It sure would spice up FFXIV though, and bring excitement to the open world.

The issue is if they DO make PVP severs, it could fracture many communities due to people being split on whether or not they want to move to the servers or spend time raising alts on said servers.

I remember that interview. I think that sounds fun but am afraid it would go over badly.
