Lets shut these new tanks up please: 7 PLD 1 SCH Thordan clear and then 7 DrK 1 WHM

Living Dead is a planned cd used for raids just like Holmgang, and Hollowed Ground, PERIOD. It is just Hollowed Ground can easily get away with it in pug situations aka more casual friendly, since the skill requires little planning or group coordination. These 3 skills are meant to be your "cheese this mechanic" cds anyways.

Also when I go into roulettes as a Scholar, and see a Dark Knight popping Living Dead, I just heal them reguardless. I am not going to us my Aether Flow stacks to heal your butt back to 100% hp, when I can just heal you normally, dots things, and use my stacks to spread those lovely dots to everything....silly df Dark Knights. I am not a Ast/Whm. :3

So, basically, if you want to complain that WAR does a whole lot of DPS in current content, then you'd be correct. I understand the worry for 3.2, I honestly don't like how the future is looking for DRK or PLD if things stay the same, but we won't know until we get there.

It's more or less feels like Warrior was just built a lot better, than the other tanks. While Drk/Pld gets divided into magic or physical mitigation tanks. Drk gets more dmg, while Pld suffocates under it's own Shield Oath with less dmg/enmity so it can try to do more dmg later on to meet the games meta with the only reason given to us by Yoshi-P is Hollowed Ground/Shields...lame answer imo. While Warrior's def cd's are unbias minus Raw Intitution with good dmg, and aggro, and can fit as MT or OT well with it's skill set with little hinderance on it's performance in either position. Personally, I would like to see all the tanks brought up more into Warriors lvl before we talk about War nerfs, or whatever.

My hopes are honestly low for 3.2 tank reworks, since all that was really said was dmg calculations for tanks will be revised. Since that could mean anything, gear/stats/tank balance it's all up in the air. But likely will be just a quick fix thing that tries to solve the problem for whatever they see that does need fixing. This waiting is honestly getting old to me. I started the game as a Warrior in 2.0, was told by Yoshi-P the class was fine...when it wasn't. I swapped tanks actually shortly after 2.1, since I did like the idea of a hp regening tank, but we got a build with skills comparable to Pld. At the time, I was lvling my Pld and decided to stay with Pld, since I liked the playstyle more then the redesigned War, and had more fun being a wall tank, than a dps tank. But again the class I liked playing now Pld is underperforming ingame...got the same answer from Yoshi-P as before...but not changes this time, while 2.0 War got reworked to be a comparable tank, and also Ast got buffed to be a comparable healer to it's counter parts. So I have mained a underperforming class in this game for likely a year now with 2.0War/3.0Pld as the devs say the class is fine. But why am I doing this, because I love the class simple enough. So meh, this is why my hopes of a tank rework is very low, and likely Pld will remain the underdog atleast in raids till 4.0, if they do introduce a skill tree system at that time.

As for Thordan Ex, just feels like dead on arrival content, when we already have these 7war/1healer clears, or it could be any other weird setup honestly. I am sure 7pld/1healer is very doable too. I am just bummed the content already feels dated on it's own patch cycle 3.1, and not in 3.2 or something.

Severals months ago, they made itt sound so obvious that PLD and DRK would manage to do it as good as WAR, yet we haven't seen anything on it.

Anima weapons came out and people stopped caring about Thordan. That and as I believe I said earlier on this thread, and elsewhere, WARs are a dime a dozen, but trying to find 7 good DRKs/PLDs on a given server depending on who you know can be a chore. I for one can barely find 7 tanks period on my server that I trust enough to pull this off without wiping more than I feel content to waste time on.

PLD is faceroll to play. That doesn't make it fun to play, on the flipside, I find it boring as hell, which is why my PLD hardly gets any use.

If you don't have it fun, why did you bother leveling it to 60 ?
And if it is that faceroll to play, I suppose you're probably good enough to do that one challenge, even if you don't use it much.

I am honestly curious about this challenge. I'm gonna try to set up a party for this later. I don't think I'll have much success on my server, though. It's hard enough finding 7 players who actually want to run Thordan Extreme. Finding 7 Players who are good enough to clear is a step shy of winning the lotto. Getting a full group of tanks will probably be very near to impossible ... But I'm curious to see what will happen and, win or lose, I think it will be fun.

If you don't have it fun, why did you bother leveling it to 60 ?

I leveled it to 60 just to have a second option for my static, for the possibility where bringing my PLD instead of warrior was a better option.

I'd be glad to take on this challenge, just to see if it could be done. Though I think it would be very tight to have enough dps before enrage. Especially with no storm's eye on the boss.
