FFXIV 2nd expansion: Viera-like race still a possibility?

I just wanted to throw my hat into the ring and say I REALLY want Viera to be a thing. After seeing how they did the Au Ra character models and seeing the Viera concept art I think it needs to be a thing. I feel like we need more races that stray from the standard character model that currently all races but Au Ra seem to follow. After Au Ra all races look plane and boring, plus Viera are a fan favorite.

That is my two cents worth anyway!

Wow, the necro-post was strong with this one. After originally posting this, I came to the same conclusion as most people and saw that it would probably fall short of the implementation that people genuinely want from the viera race. In all honesty, the whole cross-race thing technically exists in the game with that one hyur/elezen npc, Hilda, but what if they took it a step further and mixed the core races with the other Beast races?

Let's say if SE added a race like The Elder Scroll's Argonian (lizard/dragon people who have full scales) would people play them since they would look way less human?

Those are the types of races I usually place in games anyway...so yeah, I totally would. The main reason I'm not playing a Miqo'te or Au Ra at the moment is because they don't look nearly bestial enough for my tastes. In my opinion, they just look like someone slapped a tail and cat-ears/horns on a hyur and called it a day.

I realize that's a funny thing to say coming from someone who plays a Roe, which are arguably just roided out humans, but they somehow managed to stand out as the most visually appealing race to me in FFXIV.

I would say the two rarest races never used.

Which is Esper since they had their own town and lore would be pretty cool and Red XIII from final fantasy 7, how cool would it be to be a dog type using a claw as a weapon different special moves and a different armor getup only it can use.
