    Suggestion: Housing removal

How about instead of removing people's houses, you add more wards so others have an opportunity to own without revoking what current owners work hard for and sink time/gil on. So long as the account is active (even if it wasn't) this seems quite unfair.

I spent the better part of a year, as a solo player, farming, gathering and crafting in order to afford my plot. I spent even more decorating and planning out my estate. However I ended up getting sick at the end of October (even spent time in the hospital) and didn’t fully recover until recently only to log in and find my house gone. Since I had been continuing to pay my subscription fee, I believed my status would have remained unchanged. I never did receive the warnings that you claim to send at various stages in removal. All I got was both a 3 day and 10 day warning on Christmas eve. -Dec 24- telling me that I would lose my house the next day (on Christmas, thx). I've already messaged support about this but never heard back.

They actually said in the future they're gonna be adding more plots, lemme quote 'em

Q4: We have the auto reclamation this month, but can you please let us know about future addition of land?

A4: We have confirmed that we will be increasing the amount of land for existing housing areas in Patch 3.3. After this we’re planning to introduce mansion type housing, and housing in the Ishgard area.

While I'm glad to hear that, it doesn't do much for those of us that have already been punished for recovering from illness, injury or that serve in the military and were forced to take time away but still paying for a service. If they have the ability to add more wards, why not just do that in the first place? Why take from paying customers something that they work for and put so much into?

Meh, can't make everyone happy all the time. They're doing what they can, and working on fixing the issue during the bigger updates.

Q: Auto-reclamation for housing starts this month, but can you tell us if there will be any future additions of plots?
A: We'll be increasing the number of plots for existing housing areas in Patch 3.3. After we expand those areas, we'll add apartment-style housing in Ishgard areas afterwards, starting with one apartment-style building which will hold about 512 residences. We’re also planning to make chocobo stables available for use to residents of apartment-style housing. Gardening patches are still proving somewhat difficult, but we’re currently developing new “planter pots” that will allow gardening.

As per demand, we are also looking into the prospect of increasing the number of indoor furnishings which can be placed in residences.

This is why I gave up on owning a house in the game and joined an FC and got a private room........ 'sobbing silently'

All I wanted was a small house but 6-10 mil gil for a house ?? In a 'game' ?

Why do they make everything hard and complicated.... I remembered PS1 and PS2 days, when everything was simple, easy, and actually 'fun'
Please don't tell me that I'm the only one who feels this way...

Because there were very few MMO RPGs you could play on the PS2, and they didn't really have housing systems. Also -> http://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Personal_Housing

If you combine all the servers in total, the prices of just small houses go between 2m and 5m. Which in my opinion, isn't that bad (Mostly cause I make between 30k and 200k a day due to me desynthing almost at max for gsm/ltw and getting good mats from i160/i185 stuff)

    You aren't. *hugs*

I started playing this game probably six-ish months ago. I was really upset with the housing crisis. I took a break (unrelated reasons) and was really hoping when I came back that I'd see some improvement. I'm glad a few people got homes who have been waiting, but I'm sad that this also just provided an opportunity for some to take advantage of the situation and resell the homes that many have patiently been waiting for. It's economics. I get it. Supply/demand. I can't blame players for wanting to make an extra buck. I CAN blame the game for creating this issue in the first place though.

I've never played an MMO where getting a home was so hard. As a new player, it almost feels like false advertising to say housing is a feature. Sure, a feature that many don't have access to...
