They mentioned that it might be tied to crafting, so it might even be the new high end gear crafters will use? They always get recycled models. Whatever it is, knowing Yoshida it won't be as simple as "It's now dyeable!"

the primal weapons approach maybe.
Special mats from desynthesis and drops from the raid.

I doubt it, I think it will be like the old Darklight gear. The primal weapons were upgraded for their special glows, but simply allowing gear to be dyed will probably simply be added to the existing gear. Darklight in 1.0 was not dyable, but after a few patches they allowed it and the existing gear gained a dye option, I'm confident that this will be the case for allagan gear as well.
I hope so, I cannot wait till BC I, II, and IIIs become relevant again. I, despite the great lengths the Dev team put into making crafting the revolutionary metagame it is, abhor actually crafting. My bread and butter was grinding out my desynth skills and breaking dungeon gear down to reap the hq mats and demis.
Indeed. The dev team seems to have a perverse love of taking extremely simple things that would be great for players if they took the easy route and adding a bunch of unnecessary steps to it. Glamour system being the most egregious offender
