    eh but that wasnt the intention behind specialist. -.-; specialist skills/system failed to attract anyone to use it. as it was supposed to make people have 1 job that can be self sustained without having everything to 60 with max melds to enjoy crafting. it did nothing.

    they added the current gates behind specialist to force people to use it. otherwise no one will bother cause it has failed miserably.

    Agreed. That's why I said it needs to be revamped. Remove all Specialist requirements from recipes, and make the Specialist soul crystal give you the other 21 cross class skills that you did not get from that particular crafting class, the level 15, 37, and 50 ones.

    Just kicking this idea around ... might be OP ... what if Specialist added 10% to the chance of success for actions when crafting as the Specialist class?

    Imagine how different rotations would be ... no need to use SH on Byregot's Brow, 90% chance for SH2-buffed Hasty Touch to succeed, and so on.

    Personally speaking I don't mind if it's locked behind specialist as I'm 8/8 specialist (main and 2 alts) but but what I don't want to see is gatherers gear being shared with favor tokens like now so being forced to choose to gear gathers or obtain favor mats....

    tbh specialist actions alone are already a gate because they make crafting 2 stars soooo much easier imo.

    I would add they need to avoid the same thing with things like Furymint for D-pots. Gating them behind ephemeral nodes, which people need for their gear, as well as making them not even guaranteed to show up at all, was truly a stupid idea.

    I however, want 3.2 behind specialization. I want it to have more of a use. Do i hate specialization? Yes, no, I dont really know. But give me more recipies for specialization, because if this is all specializatiion was for (one tier of gear that doesnt really matter) then that sure was anticlimactic. 250+ previous recipies per class going from 1 to 60 with the old system. New system introduced that is added on and only has 5 recipies. At least give us a larger, 50 or so recipies additional per class, that we can argue about whether its fair to limit access with.
    It's like arguing whether apple or windows is better, in the 1800s. Give us the product first before we start picking sides.

    It's enough recipes for people to see the direction it's headed, and enough for people to make a decision about which side they prefer. It's a completely justified conversation to have, so I don't buy into your argument about needing more recipes before one can make a decision.

    It's enough recipies for someone that wants to do everything to make a decision yes. I'm talking about making money. I do bsm/arm specialization, havent chosen a third yet. Armorer makes 6 items, and bsm has only 1, the ingot. Thats 7 items, that has absolutely no impact on the market. And the gear isnt even wanted. I'm the only person making this gear on my server (theres a couple people charging 10x my price, or people buying and reselling my gear). What I care about is if recipies that are limited to specialization will be feasible to craft.

    Look at the 2 star gear we have now. Its too expensive to craft and no one will buy it because there is no reason. The sky pirates gear is somewhat easier to get materials for, just run diadem and go gather the materials, but the gear is again, irrelevant. I want some recipies under specialization, with gear that actually matters, with materials that are easier to obtain (such as diadem mats), to see if that will cause the market to halt just as much as the 2 star gear. If its the same situation as sky pirates, but the gear has a real use, then the market will be flooded with it just like cobalt or mythril armor. In that case I couldnt care less if I cant access all recipies.

    I would have preferred specialization starting at 51, and all of the heavensward recipies being specialization, to see how that would effect the economy. Either that or the specialization stone itself grants extra progress and quality with every action.
