If you choose to grind Alex to get the items that is your choice. There is a tremendous amount of variety. Poetics, Law, Allied Seals, Beast Tribe Tokens, Alexander, Treasure Maps. Its all boring but one thing you can't say is there is no variety. I was hoping for challenging fights to beat but SE has settled on relics not requiring a combat challenge.
