Today I got kicked from a Fractal run because I wasn't throwing out pots at the BLM, I argued that the cooldown for pots makes it hard to effectively heal as a tank and keeping up with the WHM's DPS was making life harder.

That's not all, last week I got kicked from a Bismarck run because I didn't have Clemency on my DRK, I've never felt so ostracized since my WAR days when people only wanted PLD's. Now they've made PLD's the ultimate healer so I struggle to get parties on my DRK. I really don't want to re-roll.


Why is it like this? I signed up to play a tank, not a healer.

Is nobody getting the point the topic creator is trying to make? The idea of a tank being expected to heal is completely ridiculous. Everyone realizes this. Half the people in this thread's response boil down to "You're an idiot for saying that tanks are expected to heal."
Tanks are expected to tank. They are assigned a role, and should be doing everything within their power to perform that role to the best of their abilities. Healing is another role. It would be idiotic for someone in one role to be expected to perform someone else's role.

In unrelated news, tanks and healers are expected to DpS.

I see you're a MRD. Perhaps you weren't self sustaining properly. Warriors can sustain without a healer for a very long time. If they don't use these skills.. they are incredibly bleedy and terrible as hell to heal. Read your tool tips.

Offtopic; "main class" here used to be only classes, so a lot of people show as "main class: (class)" instead of job cause they never updated it.
