    Abilities veterans from 1.0 might want for the next level increase [SPECULATION(?)]

    For the record, I never got to play XIV through the 1.0 era (I had a 2004-era iBook laptop and no desire to buy any PC, much less one capable of running XIV). However, having looked at a YouTube video of the skills available at that time, I am curious to know what skills veterans from 1.0 would like to see if and when we see another level increase in the next expansion.

    For me, an example might be:

    PLD--War Drum. An AoE, enmity-generating attack would be very useful on the road to the next cap (if not sooner)

    No more abilities. If anything just talents, ability bloat is already rearing it's ugly head for a few jobs.

    As a veteran.... I want nothing more from 1.0 to come back. 1.0 was a dark time, the less we get back from it the better.

    PLD didn't have War Drum, it was a shield ability, you had to level shield. by blocking. but yes. i miss it.

    I'd prefer more traits or the ability to augment my current abilities, but... (Abilities modified to fit HW)

    Trammel - Charge a target, piercing for damage proportionate to proximity, and applying a heavy effect based on damage and distance charged.
    Speed Surge - Similar to Life Surge or Power Surge, but for haste... Likely shares cooldown with Life Surge.
    Comrade in Arms - Your attacks cause a stacking debuff, increasing attack speed of self and allies for each hit scored on the target to a maximum based on the stack count.
    Spinstroke - An attack (or passive) that deals (or causes the augmented ability to deal) additional damage if it would pull threat on the enemy (when including that bonus damage). Internal CD.
    Brandish - A basic near-circular self-centered AoE/cleave, dealing additional damage to enemies recently hit.
    Disorient - Kicks dirt in the enemy's face, reducing their accuracy and evasion. (Can cause missed attacks to do the same.)
    Warmonger - Provides a huge burst of temporary threat on all enemies near you, fading over 5 seconds. Fades slower when attacking or attacked by you.
    Barbaric Cry - Deals faint damage and interrupts the casts of nearby enemies, chance to pacify enemies currently readying weaponskills or special abilities and to remove one-time buffs (such as Life Surge, Swiftcast, etc.), and reduces the duration of all buffs of nearby enemies based on damage, split over all buffs affected.
    Puncture - Fires at target, through whatever enemies are between. Briefly reduces armor (increases physical vulnerability) based on damage dealt.
    Scouring Strike - Next shot removes buffs or reduces their duration as it passes by. This effect cannot miss, though its chance is based on damage that would be dealt had the shot hit, and on your accuracy.
    Shrieker - A disorientating shot that distracts nearby enemies, manipulating their enmity, with a chance at confusion.

    Most of these preferably as augmentations or effects that can be conditionally triggered by certain abilities with their own resource costs, if any.

    How about instead of new skills we go the ESO route and let us upgrade our job skills into one or two alternate versions of skills. Like an upgrage to Shield Lob, one hits multiple enemies while the other has even more arggo. You know, like that. Along with new traits of course.

    Lego is correct - the SEN class was scrapped when 1.0's battle system and abilities were completely redesigned in preparation for the introduction of Jobs, and thus all the SEN abilities (ala, shield abilities), were given to GLA by default, hence War Drum became a GLA ability, only to be lost in the changeover to ARR. I think Circle of Scorn is meant to replace it in ARR technically (much like how Shield Swipe is basically 1.0's Phalanx), as it pretty much has a similar effect - albeit with a long cooldown.
