Seriously, that's brilliant. Reminds me of some of the old MUDs of yore.
Hats off to SE for implementing a feature like this.

I like to visit Nanawa Mines and axe the skulls off skeltons.
Which for some reason drop a silver goblet :S
How about when you could Cure some types of opponents then they would die from that, thought I can't remember which ff it was from.
the sad thing to me is that it seems alot of people are just finding out about this type of stuff in the game. it's an option that's been in game since day 1 and is an enjoyable part of the game, but due to lack of communication from se this is just another fun thing that people do not know about. i really do, in times like this, miss the old days of a basic walkthrough guide or a tutorial section of the game.
to me its like the battle regimen. i doubt most people that play the game casually even knows how to initiate the br itself and if they do do not realize that special combinations are available through it. granted it does need more combo's to use in it and being able to attack while in br mode, but it is something that can be used in alot of situations. some great animations on the moves inside it would be great also.

I remember hearing about attacking parts of a monster, but thought they meant like in the case of the marlboro in the opening cinematic and that mobs would have various parts you could target.
I still like the current setup, but I agree: we need some type of in game tutorial or at the very least, moves that attack a specific part of a mob need to be labeled as such "Concussive Blow II: targets head" for example.
the only problem with the targeting like in the head is the fact that only certain skills work for an incap so if someone used skull sunder over and over they'd wonder "why doesn't this horn break?". i used concussive blow because it takes tier 2 of that ability to break one.I agree.

maybe we could add an option in the main menu when you open it for a person to be able to examine the mob to see if there is an incap ability and then see if you have the ability to incap. it would also show the mobs elemental strength and weakness. i'm not really a huge fan of that because it is something you should find out, but it would have alot of usefulness for alot of people. it would also let people know if a mob aggro's that way that big red starburst could be removed. it only takes once to know if a mob aggros or not when the stupid thing attacks you.

I'm actually all for a Scan/Libra ability. It doesn't make anything easier than it would when most people would just look the resistances/info up online, but it does make it more convenient. It's something that's been in FF games before so it's not even a new surprise and it fits with the world. Give it to Arcanist or something, it kind of fits with their lore.
Cureing always damages undead type openents in FF games, im not sure when they stopped or if they stopped doing it but i dont remember it ever occuring past 11.
and to the person who wants scan/libra, yes please! A spell I always wish I had when they dont give it to me.
It would probably make the most sense for Arcanist to have Libra, yes.I'm actually all for a Scan/Libra ability. All I have to say is that if SE were to make one change that would make this game untold amounts better, it would be for the Lost Ewe to explode into a puff of wool when it dies. You know, a similar effect to an exploding pillow full of feathers. Poof! Ahhh. That would be so satisfying.![]()
