    Suggestion to prevent Hotbar explosion in 4.0.

    Well theres so many weaponskills and combos with 4.0 everyones hotbars will explode.
    So a simple solution came to my mind.
    You could simple just reduce all combo weaponskills into one button. As example the Ninja Aeolian Edge combo is just one button that switches after every weaponskill.
    Sure you have then just to spam only one button for the whole combo but its not much different then spaming 3 buttons 1 after another and it would save 2 hotbar spots.
    I know you could macro it know into one button mow but it doesnt work with Skill queus and also doesnt check if a skill whent throu succesfully.
    Also a option to put several OCDs, into one button and be able to arrange the order in wich they get activated could help the button bloat.

    Edit 1: Everyone saying we should only get new traits for existing abilitys, forgett about it, it whont happen. There will be new skills and new combos and maybe new traits as well. Also its a terrible idea to not have new skills and combos in 4.0 wehere also the level cap increases so forgett it in here and maybe make a new threat of your own if you whant that.

    Edit 2: Of course, comboing your skills as one button to the hotbar is a optional way to set up your skills. And nothing that changes much at all just a QoL change.

    Edit 3: Shikiseki mentioned something about stance skills like on warrior, or SMN DT/DF. Things like Innerbeats/fellcleave should change automaticly based on active stance, and should not rely on use macros.

    Edit 4: Ninja Example

    Simplified rotation

    Instead of pressing
    SE>GS>DE>SE>SF>M>SE>GS>AE>SE>GS>AC
    wich needs 7 hotbar slots

    you had to press

    (DEC = Dancing edge Combo ect.)ect
    DEC>DEC>DEC>SFC>SFC>M>AEC>AEC>AEC>ACC>ACC>ACC
    wich is the same ammount or presses but only needs 5 Hotbar slots

    I'd prefer we see traits adding to lesser used abilities for the 60-70 range.

    For (very rough) example, SCH may get

    62: Aetherdam IV. Allows the stacking of up to four Aetherflows.
    64: Enhance Sacred Soil. Increased mitigation up to 15%, grants haste while inside. Cost 2 aetherflow.
    66: Enhance Energy Drain. Increases damage to 200, and drains one buff from the enemy granting it to yourself. Cost 2 aetherflow.
    68: Enhanced Pet Action II. 20% chance of increasing critical hit damage by 20% when pet deals critical damage.
    70: New ability.

    Not as terrible as turning a rotational skillset into literally clicking one number on your keyboard 3 times over.

    Traits can be interesting if done right, and that's what I'm looking for, interesting traits. For example "Dream Within a Dream has a small chance to proc every critical strike, resetting its cooldown" or the like.

    Depends, they could add traits which significantly change existing abilities. Why, for example, give Dark Knight an additional DoT similar to Circle of Scorn, when you can instead have "Enhanced Dark Passenger: Applies DoT with a potency of whatever for whatever".

    I'd actually like to see new abilities though, or rather "new" abilities. Rather than going "I'll set Second Wind on Ninja", I'd rather have a quest that just gives me my own version of Second Wind (NPC Ninjas had their own healing skill I forget the name of), perhaps slightly different to Second Wind itself. The whole concept of sub-class skills seems fairly pathetic at this point. I'd like to see options to give some degree of customization (inb4 "people will just do what's best"), but sub-class skills is not the place for it... Sub-class options don't really add anything meaningful, I'd rather use those slots for Gathering skills in all honesty, then I can know when nodes are up while on combat Jobs.

    A Job like Ninja is in the perfect position though; Slap an additional effect on something like Dream within a Dream, which works somewhat similar to Kassatsu, and you've got potential to double our Ninjutsu repertoire. Alternatively just make it so Ten Chi is Raiton, for example, and Jin Chi is something new.

    there is not only 1 combo and we will get new combos as well so it wont be like you spam the same button all the time.

    I say we get upgrade to our same existing skills, different animation, higher potency, new or different additional effects maybe ? for an exmaple
    DRG:
    True trust > Vorpal Thrust > Full Thrust. combo will be something like True Trust II >> Vorpal Thrust II > Full Thrust II
    we just have to replace the old combo icons with the new ones.

    so nothing changes just new icons and mabye higher potency as you get to the new level cap every clas plays the same as before, whats the point of raising the level cap then ?
