Not really your fault, in my opinion.
While I understand the need to keep threads in check, you meant well, and this was an important event / development for our community as whole.

Raine, Ryu, if I may offer a bit of advice: try and be mindful of the impact these news made on other people. Also, the OP wasn't being aggressive or demeaning to anybody, so she deserved at least the benefit of doubt - and a modicum of courtesy.

I'm quite sure you didn't actually mean to be rude either, just concise, but it somehow ended up as a little too harsh rather than getting the actual point across, IMHO.
