Get rid of vote abandon

Or. You could leave. It's also just as selfish to hold people hostage because you don't want to re-queue. Not everyone spams abandon, and quite frankly if enough voted for it, might as well learn to deal with it. People don't want to be stuck with people who don't try or don't care.

Not really. I signed up for the duty to do it. If you want to leave early that should be on you.

And thus we'll go right back to 2.0 where people leave and join all the time. 30 minutes isn't going to kill anybody.

Or they could do what world of warcraft does and fill the group up at one time. What I mean by that is if you are waiting on 4 people to join, don't have them join one at a time, only have their queue pop when the system finds 4 people.

In wow which has a similar dungeon finder and raid finder similar to FFXIV the way they do it is. If you leave a dungeon/raid before the first boss is killed or less then 15 min have passed you get a 30 min lockout out. If 15 min has passed or the first boss has been killed you can just leave without penalty.

Honestly that does seem to work better then the whole vote abandon thing, cause people who don't like the group can leave people who want to stay and stick it out with new people can stay.

No, from what you've posted, what it sounds like is that you want the system crafted and catered to your liking, your benefit only. I hear more people complain about being held hostage, than vote abandon spam.

I'd rather they just increase the timer for raids and leave everything else the same. I shouldn't have to take a 30 minute timer, or be stuck with terrible players, all for the sake of you getting what you want from a raid, and neither should anyone else. Lol.

I can throw the 30m timer thing right back at you, so I'd prefer it just be left out because it's a ridiculous argument.

And I offered a suggestion so people wouldn't be stuck with bad groups. Also terrible players? Hardly it was one wipe because of new players. You sound incredibly selfish with each post you make.

I'm selfish for not wanting a timer because bad or troll players refuse to abandon?

You're not by wanting the entire system reworked?

By terrible players, I mean what I consider terrible. Almost ways it's trolls. It happens daily. I had a BLM that continuously kept popping into DF A4 and would purposely run into the healers to get Nesi or wtfe that skill is, and drag it to the rest of the raid. That's terrible. I don't want to be stuck with that. New players are just that, new. I'm doubtful people want to spam abandon because someone says they are new. Yeah it happened a whole heck of a lot before HW but I never see it anymore. Heck, I had a BRD that I've gotten a few times that had a macro set up to alert the group he was handicapped and only played with 1 hand, and that if the group wanted to kick him they could after the timer was ready. Not one group did.

The system works, and is in place for a reason. I do not think it should be removed. I'm done.

You do know that if people could just leave, odds are you'd lose a large portion of the raid after the people got their items or the item they wanted from said boss didn't drop, right? Lol.

If vote abandon passes kick all the people who voted yes out and leave the ones that voted no in the party. The people who voted no can then choose if they want to leave based on the amount of people remaining and refills.

The people who want to leave can leave, the people that don't want to leave can stay in the group.

WoW is sorta similar but everyone is in progress checked automatically so it handles leavers more easily than FFXIV's volunteer option.

Can't make everyone happy. Vote abandon should be in the game, it is more often used in hopeless situations than when people abuse it. That said, there still should be some sort of penalty for using it when X amount of time hasn't passed or something. Will help deter people from doing immediate vote abandons on one wipe.
