Favor system is in a good place. Before there were rarely any favor mats up on the mb, and when they were, they were overpriced. Now gatherers and crafters can benefit from the favor system by supplying mats to crafter and gear to gatherers.

I started scrip gathering rather late. Like I was both MIN and BOT 60 before I started. Working on my last regional folklore book and the pickaxe. Once I have the book I see no further need for blue scrip save to get bait for my fisher alt if I ever get off my butt and finish 2.55 with her.
But this favor stuff... it seems kinda time intensive what with getting red scrip and buying favors and THEN doing the favor runaround dance. Not that its hard to cap red scrip or that the favors take a lot of it. And from what I read in this thread its profitable.
So my question about favors is is it fun? Is it an interesting challenge? Or is it more frustrating than anything? I realize this is highly subjective. As a perspective on me, I consider Furrymint and Clary Sage an interesting challenge but not fun.
It's like grinding eso tomes: neither fun or challenging.
Poor Jade ;-; I will try and help you out when I can. ❤️We highly complained and SE reduced the Favor time from 15 mins to 5 mins... and tripled the proc-rate. I once got 12 Black Swan Feathers in just 1 Favor... a 15 min favor, but that was nice. I agree, I rarely get 20 mats per Favor these days, I usually just use my Steel Spoils to make up for the difference or buy them on the MB, when the only way to get these mats were Favors it was MUCH worse!
I ended up reading one of Caimie's guides online and I don't hate the favor system quite so much now. I was able to get more materials per favor, so now I can generally get enough materials for 2 turn in per 5 favors, it just took reading up a little more. Some prepwork, and avoiding death by wandering Dragon!
And I can even sell some of the extras I get if I want.
I still think it is an overly convoluted system, but it's something I can deal with. And thankfully I have enough turn in stored away to cap red scrips for the next 2 weeks.

I'm exactly the same, the gear isn't needed or anything exciting. Heck, much of it isn't even pretty to look at. If I was doing Savage then I'd make effort to get all i210 & complete the Relic last stage but I'm not. I thought Void Ark may have spiced it up but nope.
As for red scrips, I'm not anywhere near lvl60 for crafting & I've not been one to enjoy "star" crafting anyway so DoL red gear isn't essential either yet. It's like they put it in too early or forgot to put in a reason for it.

I'll be buying up Favor mats by the 100's soon to put my 137 Red Crafting Tokens to use!
