Tbh, this possible option, among others, is something I'd rather see than a new race... A slimmer cat-man, a less scrawny midlander, an actually fierce-looking Au'ra...

If male cats could look like Lehko Habhoka, all of my characters would be male cats.
I wish Miqo'te had the Mithra's more cat-like faces but that's probably an unpopular opinion.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME
Sadly, Lehko was the only male Mithra to ever appear in FFXI. Others were implied to exist, but no models were made or shown.
So, it's a good thing that the one male they ever did show was awesome! He was also unapologetically bisexual, flirting equally with female or male player characters. :3
I'm a straight guy...and I totally wouldn't mind that. XD
I actually was planning on making a FFXI account at one point, this might actually push me towards it lol.
Anyways, quick though, plenty of FFXI races are yet to be seen in ffxiv, but at one point Shantoto made an appearance and she was indeed a Tarutaru. If SE could remodel these races and add them, I wouldn't mind it at all. Even if the ones we have now are just remakes of the ones we have now. They just have a specific charm to them ya know?
Like the Elvaans, that fem one has a Lara Croft feel to it, just me probably lol:
And even the mithra had their had their personal charm. They were alot more beast-like, despite them being eye candy to some players:

Oh hey....that looks like Yonah from Nier....huh. : O
ehh, a little. Anyways,
Though I use my character as a visual representation of my personality which the males couldn't fit, though I still ogle at how adorable my kitten looks sometimes X)

Tiny, overeager readhead who lays on the hero worship something fierce after his into quest? Not that much of a mystery. He was also kinda in Lehko's situation for most of a full calendar year for being the only named male outside of Forgotten Springs. (Not counting K'hrid, who's in only one scene and can't be talked with after.) HW was a lot less restrictive on catmen in quests, but G'raha's still kind of a snowflake.
There are some pieces (like the Bard AF2) that make the characters wearing them look more slender than they do with gear unequipped, but for the most part they were limited by the base mesh used for all non-Lala races. Maybe they could have gotten their own body texture like Roes and Highlanders, but I know most of us at the time were too distracted by them being playable to nitpick.

I rather prefer Lehko's model style to the male miqo'tes as well. There's a sense that the male miqo'te are constantly trying to look like "badasses," and it actually makes them usually come off rather clownish to me. Their face choices usually don't help (as with a few of the other races, they have one face that's incredibly common, and it's one that I just can't stand, honestly).
I'd just like to share this bit on concept art that's come up in previous threads on the topic of Miqo'te builds...
