Stoneskin - Is it worth getting on a scholar?

I feel like it's better just to use succor to cushion damage.

I mean I guess it's useful when being used before a fight but since it costs 1400 mp per cast I probably will avoid using it during combat.

I dunno, should I bother leveling my conjurer to 32?

Yes~ It's aweeesome! It is straight up addition to Scholar's ability to mitigate damage. I love it.

Adlo + Stoneskin pre-pull on dungeons = you DPSing way more than you would without it.

I would say don't worry about it. I use cleric stance, protect, swiftcast, aero, and blizzard 2. I've never really ever been in a situation that I thought would be improved by stoneskin.

Honest question. What situation would you consider Blizzard II more viable than more pre-pull shielding?

Probably viable during PVP where you stick your opponents on the ground for a few seconds while you sprint away.

or maybe bind mobs while they are chasing the pulling tank. Short ranged ones can't attack the tank if not in range, sparing the tank a few hits that could amount to the damage mitigated by SS.

stoneskin is working different than succor and you can use it for different things. the biggest difference is the 30 mins duration. you can shield a person anytime and the shield is still there if the person gets hit. you don't need to time the shield. usefull after you revive somebody to cover weakness or when a person has too many stack of some debuff so he can survive the next attack...

without the additional heal stoneskin is less usefull to cover tankbusters, but it's always usefull casting it pre-pull on the tank. or pre-pull on everybody, if you find the time for it :x

Blizzard II is your best filler spell after you've baned your DoTs provided that there are more than 3 targets. Pub tanks will usually double pull and my friends will triple or quadruple pull, so that's 300/450/600 potency per cast. It's not holy, but it's not bad either. Super cheap too.

Arguable if question was whether it 'helps clear content' any better with or without - which the mileage will vary so lets not go there.

At lv50 there will be empty cross class skill slots.... and SS is good to have in there near top of the list with no down sides tbh.

SCH is actually pretty packed for cross class skill slots. I would argue protect, cleric stance, aero, and swiftcast are mandatory, so your only wiggle room is stoneskin, surecast, or blizzard II. Surecast's uses are iffy, but it's probably most useful during bosses considering you probably won't find any use for stoneskin or blizzard II. I'd argue blizzard II is better for dungeons. 10% is REALLY small. That's like less than a single faerie heal.
