speaking of lore breaking how is the behemouth mount twistiana mount and any other boss mount not lore breaking like don't think you can tame a boss like that...

So with the magitech and the goblin walkers then I see no problem with bikes.

Oh yeah If you all don't like lore breaking stuff make a petition to remove the lore breaking ff7 cloud costume and the other wild rose one aswell as the ffxiii stuff cause that being in this ffxiv world makes zero sense either.

Honestly getting tired of this thread at this point, so this is the last post I'll make. I never once stated I'm a fan of flying turtles, that makes no sense either... at least attach rockets. The Gold Saucer is a reference, but it's entirely plausible for it to happen. Hildibrand is comic relief, don't like the humour as it wears off, but that's not the point. As far as I'm aware (haven't progressed very far in healer storylines), things like Phoenix Downs and Resurrection aren't canon and only serve as an element for gameplay as do other adventurers, tanks, healers, etc. At least in some fights, others they're simply mentioned as adventurers, it's very inconsistent there.

If it happens, it happens and I won't complain. If it doesn't happen, well that won't be the end of it as people will keep complaining for years even until it does happen most likely, as they can't take no for an answer.

Honestly the speed thing is passable if a tortoise (and they even mention it ingame) can run as fast as any other mount, or that an airship trots at the same speed.

Eithercase, we already have a goddamn flying tortoise, so why can't we have a bike? The only explanation is that we don't have enough of a player demand on it, because it's certainly not because of lore.

And since someone mentioned Hildibrand, a flying tortoise would have even made sense there considering the environment its in. It's a break from the established tone of the main scenario and well, a comical pause in the willing suspension of belief within the game's environment. But I don't think anyone wants the entire game to be hildibrand-esq, that's how it starts to wear off and start to overstay it's welcome. Believe in the impossible, not the improbable.

I personally enjoy the hildibrand bits but it doesnt break immersion at all, its funny yes but surely we have seen people in th real world act as weird. The turtle from the images in the news letter tho kinda throws the whole immersion out to me if anything did it

Even if people were told no, it wouldn't be the end of things. You still see players wanting SMN to be like XI's version, or wanting life-sized Egi's, despite SE's long established stance on the issue.

Now with this flying tortoise coming, it has the potential of triggering a slippery slope where people will use it as an argument to why they want almost anything in the game. "You put a flying tortoise in because players asked for it, so we should get XYZ too!"

Honestly, me (and probably a lot of other people) would have accepted a tortoise flying (in gamera fashion no less) during a cutscene in hildibrand, and the mount was that specific tortoise. Even that's a lot more believable than the one we buy at the goldsaucer is apparently the only one that's been gifted with the power of flight through flames, and no other ones found in the wild are. They could retrofit it, but at that point it seems like an incredible asspull.

I don't see a problem with wanting something that they've said no about, how do you think this game evolved from 1.0 anyway? You are also comparing two very different issues anyway that are completely unalike at the moment. We haven't been told "no" and its already been created but not released because of speed.

Whoa they put something in the game because players asked for it? How dare they, guess everyone who didn't want it will have to just not use it. What a shame.

Since we have flying turtles I should get a pet dragon!
