Play Rift (a popular MMO) and then play FFXIV. In my opinion, you are insane if you think Rift combat is better. Insert any other popular mmo in Rift's place and its the same result. Furthermore, is there any other game (beside XI) that has skillchain/battle regimens? Also, we will be getting chain bonuses soon. I think FFXIV combat is very good relative to the competition.
Well i can't talk much about other mmos such as rift since i only have 3 mmo's experiences, FFXI and FFXIV and ragnarok online, never played anything else. and i'm not gonna be comparing other games battle systems... i'm just gonna talk about my personal experience. FFXI battle system was fun and FFXIV is boring, skill spam says it all and no strategy so far besides the old "hit and heal till it falls" didn't matter what mob i fought so far. Anyway it's just my opinion, maybe it's fun for you i don't care really...Play Rift (a popular MMO) and then play FFXIV. In my opinion, you are insane if you think Rift combat is better. Id rather have skill spam then wait 5 mins then WS.. then AA for another 5 mins then WS.Well i can't talk much about other mmos such as rift since i only have 3 mmo's experiences, FFXI and FFXIV and ragnarok online, never played anything else. and i'm not gonna be comparing other games battle systems... i'm just gonna talk about my personal experience. FF11 was fun for its time.. but i rather me to be more involved like ff14 is currently. i like having skills to use thats fun.
SE has some of the best ideas for their MMOs, but they fail at implementation. Their ideas with FFXIV are awesome and I doubt anyone would argue that. But throw in problems with controls, UI lag, etc then they don't look as good. I feel like when people say something like "FFXIV combat sucks", they are talking about issues with targetting, engaging, controls, action lag, etc and not the concept of combat itself.Play Rift (a popular MMO) and then play FFXIV. Thanks for bringing some sense into the equation!SE has some of the best ideas for their MMOs, but they fail at implementation. Their ideas with FFXIV are awesome and I doubt anyone would argue that. Even tho many people asked for it, i didnt say AA was what was lacking in combat or that it came to save the whole battle system, it was a minor improvement at best, it let's you chat while hitting if that's something you need doing i guess
good so we agree its a better system.
It is also a not finished battle system. To judge now would be silly but its pretty clear most people like where its headed.
