Company Seals for your own chocobo THATS IT?!

Let's say I'm a new FFXIV player, I want my personal chocobo, what are the steps?

1. Level to 25
2. Join a Grand Company by doing a quest
3. Rise to the rank of member (that's probably going to be at least one quest as well)
4. Accumulate seals by doing a lot of Caravan escorts or by doing the rank 25 raid (that takes hours if you don't know anyone)
(5. Do a quest that's about Chocobos, we don't know anything yet and people are already calling for a riot.)
6. Buy your chocobo license

In FFXI we have:

1. Trade one item to a Chocobo every hour for 5 hours.
2. ???
3. Congrats, you can now ride Chocobos!

You can be proud of yourself, you really worked hard for that license there.

I can't believe some of the people here, OF COURSE it's going to be easy to get a Chocobo when you have multiple rank 50 classes? Did you think you'd have to save a Chocobo from a level 90 Wyrm in a full party? Jesus christ...

Fair enough. Still, saying it's going to be a walk in the park for a new player to get a license is pretty foolish. And once again, to those who say it's easy to "complete the level 25 raid in 10 minutes", did you complete it in 10min as a level 25 who just started playing the game? Yeah, I didn't think so.

lol ya! I actually really miss that run... It was such a thrill and a fulfilling experience... some might think it wasn't but I found it fun. Would also have competitions with friends to get on their lowest job and have a race from a starting city to jueno by foot. It was so much fun!

I'm Really Glad Rentals are just Rentals and don't need a quest to do. Thats great for new players.

Working for seals by doing a bunch of unrelated tasks is not the same thing as having a quest that explains through lore about how and where you got your chocobo and why it trusts you.

It's not really a Personal chocobo if you have no personal relationship with it.

its a company issue chocobo, youll have to take the issuance to the chocobo npc, im sure he will have a few words to say on the matter.

maybe after you beat batraal they add another boss in one last room that has a giant dragon and behind him are 8 chained up chocobos for you party, lol.

the dragon can say something like, "so you want my snack do you"

You could of thought of SOMETHING creative(like every other damn game in the franchise has done) for a quest, while we rent them in the meantime

that the rental FFXI chocobo , not the personal , and you forgot that you need to be lvl 20 .

what do you need to rent a chocobo in FFXIV ?, rank 10 only ( that takes what ? 5 min ?).
