Because humor that becomes overplayed in the wrong setting or misplaced (like...Alexander) takes away from the intended experience.

Indeed. A flying turtle ruins the sanctity of the game. Makes it difficult to enjoy the resplendence of all the flying Fat Chocobos being lured into flying with cake.
Like I said, overplayed or misplaced. A fat chocobo has always been played for laughs in a FF setting, while a tortoise has never really been significant outside of spinning in place to move (and it's been mostly confined to a vanity minion anyway, having one a as large and as abundant as a player mount would be practically in-your-face). Having a tortoise or behemoth fly is not necessarily the same, but of course a lot of people can't ever seem to draw a line with anything, including the developers in regards to the game's direction and difficulty.

Yes, good. And Lalafell cling to the shell like they do on the Ahriman when moving.
We've obviously just been poor mistyping the Adamantoise. It's been a Stupendemys all along. http://xivdb.com/item/12825/Stupendemys
"If a flying crystal-shelled tortoise cannot be seen as stupendous, nothing can."

Sheesh. They might as well just make all mounts fly at this rate. Should have just stuck to our Airship, Chocobo's, Dragons, and that Sanwua that were the original mounts with flying.
Ok, let's have a rideable cactuar mount that can flap its arms to fly.
If we ever learn to swim, as they talked about before, its sure gonna be funny to see choco's running underwater and ponies/wolves galloping thru the waves too.
This really is just getting silly tho. We can have land and sky and sea mounts seperately.
Waiting for all the threads demanding for the Adamantoise to be able to swim even though tortoise can't swim, or the Magitek Armour because "Allagans".
Honestly, "Allagan" is a good enough reason for pretty much anything in this game. But the Magitek Armor isn't allagan techology...
