    Yep, it's extremely expansive, and flexible. A guild-mate of mine when I was playing had a few houses, all linked together via portals. Was pretty awesome.

    I haven't read through the entire thread but I think a distinction needs to be made here.

    There are some players who bought a house, made good use of it, and now wish to sell it in order to buy another plot elsewhere or simply have no further wish to own a house. These players are faced with a 45 day wait if they want to get 80% of their gil back, or they can attempt to sell to another player, likely for more gil AND much faster. These players have not done anything disruptive and selling their plot to another player actually puts it back on the market quicker than waiting 45 days for the auto-demolish.

    Then there are the players buying up multiple houses SOLELY to resell them at a huge markup. These players are being hugely disruptive as their greed is driving them to monopolize a severely limited finite resource, denying other players access to this resource, with the sole intent of driving up prices and then reselling.

    Until recently SE has never really taken any kind of aggressive stance on players selling houses; people have advertised it on the PF and even on these forums with no repercussions. It's only since a number of players bought DOZENS of houses with the sole intent to resell them that we seem to be seeing a change in stance from the GMs.

    SE can't really make selling houses against the ToS until they give players a way to get the gil back from their house when they relinquish the land at ANY time. Having to wait 45 days to get any gil back from your plot effectively encourages players to sell the land to other players. From what I'm seeing here it isn't actually the act of selling the house that is against the ToS anyway. It's the act of BUYING a house just to deny other players and resell it.

    yup for me the best housing by far, accessible to every1 (free house at lvl 10? small but free), and u can buy prestige houses later on that go from Mansion , Tower of mage, refugee island, Opera....and even a ship in the middle of the ocean ! , + customizable , even looks like the added a Layout Editor so u can create anything.



    u can turn weather on / off even :P

    I could see a person saying ok I paid 5 million for this small house, give me 5 million to give it up but no they want like 50 million gil or some crazy number like that.

    How would that deter anybody from selling their house? Seems to me someone can extort money from a person or FC that wants a house (for an outrageous price) and then get paid AGAIN when they release it.

    The housing system is being super abused right now. I am looking forward to more wards becoming available so that the people who are trying to sell plots for outrageous sums of money can't do it any more.

    Indeed. I always enjoyed having all the pets wandering around and interacting with each other, too.

    I believe the "against the ToS" only works when you cannot guarantee the deal. If you say you're selling just the house, then the details are vague. You cannot guarantee (100%) the trade of your home to another person. If you put up something like "Pay me ten million for me to relinquish my land" it would be something you could guarantee.

    However, what about selling a free company? If you sold a Free Company, with housing, that IS a deal you could guarantee.
