hahaha a lot of my frds have sentimental issue with their zeta, they ended up fate grinding the first step instead of trade-in and skip
but think about it, we will never ever use that zeta again tho, and the replica only costs 90 gils......

They're not atmas, they're special crystals.
Everyone knows special crystals are harder to make than silly crystallized essences. That's just science.
I'm no different than your friends, for me its also the name. Even when used as glamour, I like it to scroll to Excalibur/Excalibur Zeta rather than with the word "Replica."
Didn't have a Zeta to turn in, but I just finished the 2nd step of the relic this afternoon. IF I did have the Zeta I think I would refrain from turning it in; the Atma part is tedious but the drop rate doesn't seem as atrocious as the first relic. After that the dungeon runs will be a little draining but now that I've completed that I'm switching to cruise mode.
No need to rush to final stage to get burned out or broke from chasing MB prices.
I would itleast do a beastman or two dailies to do some completion or Alex normal. Do 10 runs a day and be done with the third leg in a month and half.
This is seriously the worst offense of the new patch IMO. Huge slap in the face to the people who ground this out the first time. What's this new time consuming relic going to be nerfed down to upon the next expansion?
your everything will be worth nothing over time
You did the grind because you wanted the weapon (for whatever reason.) You wanted it for the ilevel. For the purty. For the sense of satisfaction. For the sense of personal character growth of completing a long haul.
You got what you wanted.
If you built a Zeta because it would give you a leg up in the next relic quest - you were doing it wrong. I don't even want to imagine - if you did any of the grind pre-nerfs - what your reaction was as those patch notes dropped "Atma drop increased"/"Alexandrite Drop Increased"/"Light Acquired increased."
Because to be honest? Those should've been more offensive than allowing you to get a small perk because you happened to complete a weapon that you had already wanted to complete prior to the announcement you would get a bonus.
They always said it was going to be a small bonus when it had actually been announced. Skipping out on a grind where RNGod could hate your guts is a pretty good deal. (I got mine in three days on and off grinding. I know some people who have been grinding since I started to and still don't have a full set.)
I got mine for the relic chain in fact, mostly as I had half-finished before I had too much of everything else to do. I think in a sense it's fair, but also it... lacks tact, I guess? I think a lot of people thought that this stage would be a true continuation of the relic, not a brand new one. So when it came time that you got to do the exchange, and found out your were getting two little stones to trade for an i170 blue weapon that was already an existing model used... It definitely cheapened the experience.
And I am more offended about that than the reduced rates. It was getting to be old hat content anyways, might as will give it some potential chance at life, because if it stayed where it was it would become literally unobtainable, and that's already happening and not being addressed for a good amount of older content.
Then again, I got a swirly, sentient, decidedly (by my choices) female boobie angel stick now. Probably how it's going to stay, too, until they offer an option to skin it back.
